sooty dapple problem

sooty dapple problem

ive had a few sooty dapple foals not dapple and both there parents were dapples is this normal because it confuses me a lot if anyone could tell me if its normal or something else plz ping me

This is normal. Dapples only need one copy of the 'on' gene to show, so if both parents only had one copy and neither threw it then the foal will not have dapples.
