Bald Hill's herd

Post by Uralym »

Welcome to the Bald Hill!

I'm working on breeding, training and competing of my favorite Bashkir horse. This breed is not that popular, and so my project's aim is to establish several lines of Bashkirs with high HGP and low COI, which will excel in western disciplines and thus promote the breed and make it more desirable in the community. I'm also trying to add some rather unusual pretty looking features such as color, short manes, heavy feathers, and green eyes to my herd and consolidate them while keeping the horses' conformation within the breed's realistic range. And here is the place where all the progress will be shared and tracked.

Current goals:
- Produce a 70k HGP or higher purebred Bashkir
- Consolidate visible tobiano genes
- Train fine horses for the market
- Earn higher competition titles for this stud:

Achieved goals aka Bald Hill's "Hall of fame"
The first Bashkir horse bred by me:

The first Bashkir trained competitor and stud bred on my farm (he had about 40k HGP):

Another stud, I started a line with him:

Result of my first project - the addition of the silver gene:

More will be added later...

Some news:

:!: High stamina genes and conformation can be considered "added". I got several not too closely related mares and stallions with gold/green stamina and also some horses already have medium to high stamina conformation, so from now on these traits will be kept in some lines.

:!: Dobry earned the Triple Champion title (he is available for stud):

:!: A little progress in adding the pearl color gene: got two Bashkir fillies with visible pearl (CrPrl genes)

One more goal achieved! Happy to introduce the first 65k HGP Bashkir:

And a strangely tiny but still cool 63k HGP mare:

So, I guess it's time to finally post an update (this topic has been abandoned for some time, my bad). I've been working on overall HGP improvement and earning titles for a couple of stallions. Suddenly found myself much into competition :D
Here are those said stallions by the way (now proven champions):

Aaand, just look what I got here:
Sabanti

A purebred 69k HGP Bashkir! The more the genes improve the more it gets complicated to raise HGP while still keeping the COI relatively low, so I'm very happy with this colt))
