Look under "Player" then "Skills" then "Training": if you've finished the Basic Training already, that's a good start. There's Advanced Trainer and Energy Reduction (very important, you can train a horse longer before it runs out of energy). Then there's specialties in each of the eight traits: Agility, Balance, Intelligence, Movement, Speed, Strength, Stamina, and Tempo.

Player courses run in Real Time. You can pause one course and start, even finish, a second course if that helps you manage your time online. It's useful to be able to complete a course while you're online, then begin another.

How fast you complete them depends on your level and which points you assign to your Player character's traits. Player characters have six traits: Charisma, Determination, Dexterity, Intelligence, Patience, and Perception. We all start out with 5 points in each trait. Whenever you level up, you get a point. Look carefully at the skills you're learning: most of the Training courses use skills like Patience, Perception, Determination, Dexterity, and possibly even Intelligence. (They use two each. Charisma applies, presumably, to other Players, as it's used in Event hosting.)

Player Bonuses can also help with training. A very good feature of these Bonuses is that you only have to pay for each of them once.

Learning skills gets faster with Faster Player Skill Learning (reduces time by 40% -- this is the only one that affects Real Time instead of game time). This is in addition to whatever your Level is and how many points you've assigned to the relevant traits.

Experience Booster makes your experience point totals 50% higher than "normal" (e.g. 15 points for doing something instead of 10). This makes you able to level up faster.

The Faster Day Regeneration and Increase Max Saved days will cut your waiting times for more turns and give you more turns to start out with.

Experience points are gained by learning player skills, training horses, and breeding.

Things you do on the farm that take game time -- and they run sequentially, cannot be "multitasked":
Train horses (varies according to the time you select)
Breed horses (20 minutes per mare; unless you have Time Saver, then it's 15)
Mow pastures (this can earn some money; it's also a way to keep little horses and ponies from getting too fat)
Enter Local Shows to earn money. Takes 3 hours game time per "show", or 2 hours 15 minutes with Time Saver.

Well, I hope some of that is useful to you! :D Welcome to the game. BTW, I've seen horses trained by very, very, very experienced players, including Alpha Testers, who did not reach 100% in each stat.

So do you mean that I must train my skills first before I can train any horse to 100%?
Thanks :)

Does seem that way. I got better results faster the more I learned.

There are some pro trainers -- you might look at some of their posts in "General Chit Chat".

Best wishes, Xan :)
