Inserting Pictures of horses?

Post by Missmandy01 »

Hello, I'm new to the community and I'd like to know how to insert pictures of horses. not just game horses, but also horses I create with the demo to serve as a breed standard example?

Hello and welcome, Missmandy! :)

Game Horses
To make your pony show up in the forums (and keep a picture in their pedigree for future generations), you can take a photo of them on the "gallery" tab next to "progeny" in their profile.

If you open your horse's profile page via the "+" button on the pasture/barn page, you can copy their ID into your clipboard. Their ID is the number part of the URL you can see in your browser.

The red part is the horse's ID.

When you're posting on the forum, there's a "horse=" button above the text area. You click on it and put your horse's ID after the = sign to put it in your post.
It looks like this:

Demo Horses/Non Horse Images
To post a picture that is not a game horse, you first have to save the picture to your computer.
On the demo, there's a "save PNG" button that allows you to save your horse.

Then, you need an image hosting service. I like http://imgur.com/
You can drag the image from the folder on your computer directly onto the page or you click "new post -> upload images", where you can choose your image and upload it.
When imgur has finished, you can see a link, a copy button and a little arrow when you hover over the image. Move your mouse to the little arrow and click "get share links". Choose the BBCode (Forums) one, copy it and paste it into your post.
Voilà!

URL is the address of the page you are on. It's in the address bar. Usually appears with a www. at the beginning.

As a note, URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator.
