Clydesdales

Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Clydesdales

Post by xXxDruidxXx »

I'm working towards Clydesdales so if anyone could offer shires/fresians/any horses that are needed to get there could you possibly say. It would help a lot! Thank you ^-^

I bred two Clydesdale colts today:
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/33387 - It looks like he might have faint dun markings on his legs, I'll see when he truns one. I know his grandsire has them, and loking at his dam I think she has a faint set too. It's a bit hard to tell though because she has pangere

Both scored 4* on the evaluation. I've repeated the cross, hoping for a filly this time

Edit: Third time isn't the charm apparently, colt again  http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/33681. At least he's 4*

I've ended up with another two 4* colts this morning. No fillies though, they always turn out as grade horses for some reason. Even when the same cross has produced three 4* Clydesdale colts, the fillies they produced were grade instead. I thought it was interesting to note. :)

Look at the breed book evaluation. Fillies are usually too short to pass.

I am working towards Vanners, so part of that is a Clyde program. I'd be happy to help anyone in any way I can. :)
