The Belgian Horse

Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Here's some studs
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/101126 - Picasso is a dapple grey stud with 1* (borderline 4*). He doesn't have any reds or greens in his breeding report and he will be 20hh or above as fully grown. He is heterozygot grey.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/101575 - Spooky Night is (probably) a fleabitten gray stud with 4* in Belgian. He too doesn't have any reds or greens in his breeding report. It's too soon to say how big he is as he just turned 3yrs old, but he is currently 19.3hh. He is heterozygot grey.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/97534 - Billy, bay pangare, 4*Belgian, no red or green

I have a Belgian only ob drive comp up if you want to enter your horses

http://www.horseworldonline.net/competitions/view/4697

Do you guys enter shows often? I'd run some more Belgian only shows but I feel badly when it's like ten of my horses and nobody else.

I know Virgo has Belgian only Pull on daily I believe.

If people want to post the events they want and the ages/gender and entry fee/prize pool they're interested in I can post some up

If you are selling any I might be interested!

I'm looking for a stud with good stamina, anyone have one at the moment? I can pay $5000 or less for stud fee.

I've been on hiatus for a while and now that I'm back, I've decided to stop breeding Belgians. I've switched to Italian Heavy Drafts. I did finish up one last color project before I switched, though. I have three new Belgian studs that might interest people. All of my studs will kick around for a while, I think, since I'll be using them to bring colors over to my IHDs. But eventually I'll have to cycle them out.

All three of these have two copies of the tiger eye gene.

Liver chestnut, I brought the color over from the Night Mare Belgian:
Brownie Mix

Red dun:
Turf

And liver chestnut dun:
Ride on a Star

I have been looking for some Belgian log pull competitions, I have some stallions I want to start in the showing world. But I haven't found very many! I'm at level 8 right now, and wishing the bar would move faster so I can start at level 10. :) When I get to level 10 you'll have another competitor participating!

Hi there, I'm totally new here, only joined yesterday and already addicted! I'm working on gathering together a few good Belgians, so far most of mine are from the adoption centre, though I have bred a couple (with some success, no reds yet!). If I progress with this as I hope to then I'd love to be a part of this breeding community?

How is the stamina? I can pay you 5k-10k for a breeding with a nice short legged, good stamina Belgian. :)
