For everyone who knows me!
I've been MIA for awhile now... Life kinda caught up with me a bit! SOOO much has happened. For starters - I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in March. Her name is Sophia. She was 7lbs 11oz and 21 3/4in long. She came out with a full head of hair and beautiful blue eyes. So far she is a GREAT baby! She hardly fusses and seems t know what she wants - once you figure it out - she's all good again. She consistently sleeps 5-6 hours each night so we are able to get some sleep at least.
In other news: I FINALLY got my Akhal-Teke! Yay for me! He is a wild-type bay with a star and two diagonal socks. His dad is Gindarkh 13 and he turns 1yr old in July. The farm I purchased him from is letting me take an older gelding they have on loan while he grows up for me to ride. So maybe I will get to do some showing soon! He is a colt now but I will be gelding him as I board and they won't let me keep a stallion. His registered name is Gyrgy and it means "Hawk" in Turkmene. Hawk will be his barn name. I will post some pictures as soon as he gets here. I am waiting for shipping arrangements to work out. _________________ The Painting Pony Equestrian Gifts and T-Shirts by HWF

How exciting! I love the name Hawk and can't wait to see some pictures of your new horse, and your lease too.
Sounds like Sophia was just like Caitlin, never gave us a hard time at all. |

Thanks! :) Looks like the shipper will be bringing them LATE at night next friday. Hmm... I think I might gather a few friends and have a "tailgate" party while I wait for them that night lol.... we'll see...
The yearling has not really been worked with much... when I went to see him in person a few weeks ago - I actually gave him his first grooming ever! He was a bit unsure of it... and me... it seems to take a little while for the Tekes to warm up to new people... they seem to be a bit aloof till they think you are OK and then they are super friendly.
One of the geldings I looked at to buy didn't work out - his hocks were pretty much shot. But he has a happy ending too bc last I heard he was going to go live at the KHP as a representative for his breed. :)
I will post pics soon!
And a question for Larissa - Did your hair fall out after you had your little girl?? I had thin hair to start with and now what I've got is falling out at a scary pace! I really hope I don't go patchy/bald!! They don't tell you these things BEFORE you decide to have kids! yikes! _________________ The Painting Pony Equestrian Gifts and T-Shirts by HWF

| Lol, no they keep a lot of things secret don't they. To answer your question, yes, that did happen to me too. It didn't last too long from what I can remember. I just figured it was because you hair apparently gets "thick and lush" while pregnant but I never noticed that part, only that my hair was falling out afterward. But my hair is just exactly the same as it always was once it stopped falling out. |

I don't know if you remember me posting about Weez, my pally colt, but we are now showing in reining and he is great!!! Thanks for warning me about the hair thing, lol.
