It might be some sooty going on. Varnish on these double creams is really hard to tell when it comes out. But I don't think... think your horse has varnish.

As an example of varnish on double dilutes, take a look at this mare:



And look at her gallery images. The varnish does take FOREVER to start making an actual difference. Her line and her sisters, brothers, cousins, the varnish usually starts appearing between 2 and 4, fairly blatantly enough for me to pick up on it.
But on her, even at nearly 15 years, it's almost impossible to see the varnish.

I'll put Sooty Cremello for now, see hwat he looks like eventually. :D
