Can't pinpoint this colour...

Hello horse world online people,
I can't for the life of me quite figure out this guys colour:
OTM Woody Ball

Here's what I am thinking so far, and if you have any ideas otherwise please let me know:

Bay base with champagne (Amber champagne), pangare possibly, maybe a cream gene?, and perhaps dun thrown in as well.

To make it extra helpful I forgot to take pictures of his parents to help narrow things down

Any help given is much appreciated!

Thats what I was thinking as well but I was trying to figure out what else is hiding in there becuase he doesn't look like a "typical" bay champagne.

I don't know if you could help here but if so it would be much appreciated!

Not a typical bay champagne. But I hesitate to suggest cream. Cream would wash this coat out further. I do see pangare, but no real sign of dun. Pangare can really wash a coat out and I think that's what we're seeing here. The mane and tail aren't really black enough, but I think what we're seeing is some of that 'plume' showing through, maybe. But, don't forget that champagne's tend to lighten as they age as well. His 13 year photo suggest his mane and tail might've actually been black as a yearling.

So, amber champagne pangare. Or Mealy Amber Champagne. Dealer's choice.

Thanks for the detailed response! I completely forgot that champagnes lighten as they get older I was thinking he was too dark to be cream and also didn't think dun was possible I just couldn't pinpoint how he was lighter then what I usually see Amber Champagnes as... I guess the pangare would perhaps play into that further as well.

Can't offer the amount of times I forgot it myself. But, enough times now, that unless I go senile, I won't be forgetting it again.

I have been wondering what a 'pink' horse would look like, if paired with the champagne gene. Haven't attempted it myself yet, but I might once I get my pc back. Certainly might be quite the interesting... white? perhaps?

I'm thinking a chestnut base with one champagne and one cream from the sire because I don't see any other possibilities but I might be wrong with that...

On that same note is OTM Autumn Sea the same colour just with pangare and then the spotting and associated varnish?

Yes, Sweet White is just so. She also has the flaxen gene, evidenced by the coloring on her fetlocks.

I would also agree with your conclusion of Autumn Seal. I don't see much evidence of flaxen on him though. Still possible; flaxen is rather a coin flip when dealing with the other dilution colors. White mane and tail already, is it flaxen or not? It's handy when they come paired with other indicators, like the light fetlocks on Sweet White.

Good to know I'm not completely clueless when trying to figure colours out This game just has so many neat variations and aspects to think of that I almost always miss something from somewhere
