Re: Tea's Side Project: Cypress Creek's Steeplechasing Shetlands

Whew! I jumped back into the game a few days ago, and completely forgot where I left off.
Since then, I haven't made too much progress- just bred a few more generations of fillies. Filly GP is slowly climbing up to colt GP, and I've noticed that when they start to get close the colt GP gets a bit of a boost.
I'm very very close to being able to get a 6 month upgrade, and when that happens I can start being a little more strict about my herd.
I am also very close to Horse-Type Mediums!

Today I've had some insane luck in getting a handful of horse-type colts and fillies, including Dreamboat, who is perfect in literally every way (at least so far).

Dreamboat is the first horse I am training for this project, and I'll run some local comps on her once she's fully trained to see where I am in regards to my project goals.

Dreamboat is now fully trained and I've started testing her in competitions.
She has not yet reached the optimal temperament, but her best locals score so far is 11:53.1, which is almost two full minutes off of where I need to be- but I didn't expect much from a horse of these stats, so she's just about on track.
Edit:
With further testing/temp tweaking, she is now at 11:35.1 (could maybe push it a few more seconds?) which is only a minute and a half off of the goal.

Training my next testing prospect (a descendant of Dreamboat): Midnight Silk!

He eventually was able to go about 20 seconds faster than Dreamboat- we still have a ways to go stat and GP-wise, so I'm happy about that progress.

We have broken 50K with this guy who I won't be using.

His stats aren't where I'd like them, but that's one goal I can tick off the list, at least!

FINALLY a horse-type light

Post by Cypress Creek Elites »

It's been a while since my last update to this topic (we weren't really getting anywhere for a while), but now- allow me to introduce my first horse-type light!
Steel Moon

Still need to get speed conformation up a bit more- I have a few horses in the upper 30s-low 40s, so I need to almost double speed- and still no highlighted comments for that OR stamina. But this was definitely an achievement!

I have started a phase of testing stock for heart, using pole-bending comps to substitute for steeple (similar main stats, and I'm only really looking for heart at this point).
This will continue while I wait to start aging my account again.
