All Breeds Project - 289/328 Complete!

Post by Corvus »

Gonna keep a log as I try to complete all breed quests. Since I'm already breeding a bunch to get the breed I want, might as well go for everything.

For now, I'm slowly working my way towards finishing off all breeds from the starter breeds. Not a ton left on most of them except for Arabians.

I'll also be trying to get rid of a few breeds where I can, so if there's only 1 breed left on something, that'll be higher priority than something that has a bunch of things. And the simpler the recipe, the more likely it is to get done sooner.

In Progress
These are breeds that I am actively working towards.

Kerry Bog Pony: Shetland Pony x (Welsh Pony x Falabella)

Breeds Completed
Breeds in bold are ones that I still have at least one horse of. Asterisks are for breeds that I don't have anymore, but will need for other breeds in the future. Turquoise breeds are ones that I have bred everything I can from that breed.

Map

I really like maps, so I thought it'd be fun to try to map out all the breeds as I go and sort of track things geographically. It's kinda cool, but also this is a very chaotic map since I have lines going from parent breed to offspring. So anything that has lots of breeds it creates and is in an already crowded geographic region (looking at you TBs) is a bit of a mess, but that's what the zoom in feature is for.

Horse Breed Map

Red horses are the starter/foundation breeds (or whatever they're called), purple are created breeds, and green are end breeds. Most lines have arrows, but at first I didn't think it would be necessary to put them on going from starter breeds because it could only go one way (I was wrong - it's hard to see what's going on without arrows, especially while zoomed in). Sometimes a horse is in the middle of a line or there's a lot of lines overlapping which makes it hard to follow, but it does at least give a bit of a picture of how all the breeds are connected.

As much as possible, I try to get the breeds as close to where they originated from, going down to state/province area if that information is available. Some breeds, especially older or extinct ones, are only given a broad geographical area, so if you're really into the history of horses, you may not like where I've put some breeds. If wikipedia couldn't give me a specific area, I just sorta plopped it in the middle of the region.

Sales
Obviously, there will be a lot of horses used in this project, and I will be selling off horses as I go or just aging them out. So if anyone is also wanting to breed these horses, I may have recipe horses for sale. I will also sell off breeds I don't need any longer or ones that I don't plan on working on for a while.

I like to hold on to a few horses of breeds that I still need for other projects, but as it may be some time before I'm ready to use them, I may be willing to sell them to others who need them for projects or if they're working on developing that breed. My currently frozen breeds are: Sorraia, Akhal-Teke, Andalusian, Exmoor Pony, Java, Anglo-Arabian, Kabarda, Persian Arabian, Spanish Jennet

Current Horses To Sell/Age

These are the breeds and mixes that I am no longer breeding (or cute foals that weren't what I needed) and are up for sale or will be aged out. Anything on the crowlo account will be aged out fairly rapidly.

I am more than happy to sell any horse here for cheap or give them away. Unfortunately, if I put them up for cheap, people will buy just to age or rehome, so please let me know if you want any of these horses at a lower price!

Breeds from Ancient Breeds Left

Just a little area for me to see how close I am to being finished with each ancient breed

Friesian, Galloway, Hequ, Nigerian - Complete

Post by Corvus »

Friesian: Forest Horse x (Arabian x Andalusian)

Currently have two Arabian x Andalusian mares.
Mermaids Topaz

My Exaggerated Blend

Topaz has had two foals so far and no luck. Blend is currently being aged up. Neither are ideal for Friesians. Blend is only 2 stars and Topaz is 0, but the Forest Horse should be able to make up for the deficiencies. If Arabian x Andalusian studs are available, I have some Forest Horse mares from breeding Finnish Drafts.

18 Jan: I now have two Forest Horse mares along with the two Arabian x Andalusians. So far, no luck. I also got another Andalusian colt and he was aged to breeding and I bred an Arabian mare to him. The mare is awful for Friesians, but the colt is pretty decent, so hopefully the foal takes after him more.

19 Jan: One Forest Horse mare passed away and the other is really old, but I had two fillies so I can keep breeding. My Andalusian x Arabian fillies are also starting to reach breeding age. That gives me 4 Andalusian x Arabians, and 2-3 Forest Horses.

My Forest Horse stallion Fire Hazard has produced several near misses - one was too bulky by 0.5% and several others have only missed by a few percentage points. Hopefully with more mares to breed to him, I'll have luck soon.

20 Jan: Just as all my recipe foals were reaching breeding age, Fire Hazard came through for me! I knew he'd give me a Friesian eventually.

Biohazard

Quest Complete 20 Jan 23!

As I already have several Friesians, I'll be putting all my Andalusian x Arabians up for sale immediately to make some room.

Galloway: Exmoor Pony x (Exmoor Pony x Friesian)
Foals Bred: 2
Have two Exmoor x Friesian mares. Both will be frozen before they have their foals until after I breed Friesians.

Limited Pumpkin

Impressive Inferno

I have a few young Exmoor colts, as well as an Exmoor mare, but will likely breed Pumpkin to an outside stud. My Exmoor mare is being bred to Friesians to hopefully get a few more fillies for breeding. I have a Friesian mare who is also bred to an Exmoor, so she can produce some mixes too.

If I do not breed my own Friesians by the time I'm ready to have the foals from my Exmoor x Friesians, I need to freeze the mares so I don't miss out on completing the quest.

I do not have the breed book for Galloways so it will be a mystery if I can even make them with the horses I am using.

And my second foal was a success! And to think I was actually considering buying the book so I could try to speed things up!

Galloway Colt

Quest Complete 20 Jan 23!

Hequ: (Caspian x Mongolian) x (Mongolian x Tibetan Pony)

These guys are the reasons I started the log, cause I got the foals and forgot what I was doing. These are the horses I'm trying with.

Gardenia Lady

Evermore Poppy

Bullet Bar

Gardenia and Poppy are x Tibetan Pony fillies and Bullet is an x Caspian colt, so very convenient, although they're related since they were all bred from my Mongolian herd. I may not use Bullet if I can find studs. I do not have the breed book, so no idea how these will work out.

18 Jan: No other Caspian x Mongolian studs available so it's up to Bullet Bar. Both mares have had several foals, but no luck so far.

20 Jan: Many, many foals with the same two mares and one stallion. Will keep trying and will breed more recipe horses if these guys pass before I get a Hequ. What is a Hequ anyway?

21 Jan: My mares were getting up in age and I bought the breed book and bred four more recipe horses. Before my new recipe foals could be aged up, I got a Hequ!

HEQU

I'll keep trying to breed these since they're pretty rare. Maybe getting a few out in the market will get people interested in them?

Quest Complete 21 Jan 23!

Nigerian: WAB x (WAB x Arabian)

I used to breed these, but because I hadn't made my own WABs at the time, they didn't count. Fortunately, I still have remnants of my original breeding attempt as well as a pasture of WABs.

Golden Raven

Magical Sand

These mares are Arabian and WAB mixes, but neither is great for the Nigerian. But I'm not in any hurry to get these guys, so I don't mind just breeding until it works.

Nigerian Filly!

Manipuri Pony, Sumbawa, TB - complete!

Post by Corvus »

Manipuri Pony: Tibetan Pony x (Arabian x Mongolian)
Foals Bred: 14
I had a Tibetan Pony, so thought I'd go ahead and see if I could make these. Just have the one mare right now and not really rushing this.

Digital Symphony

Since I don't have a stallion to pair with her, I'm relying on the one available stud. If he runs out of energy, I'll breed my own and may switch the mare to attempt to breed something else.

28 Jan: While trying to breed Sumbas, I ended up with some Tibetan Ponies.

5* Manipuri Colt

5* Manipuri Filly

And I made an Arabian x Mongolian filly

2* Manipuri

She's not really that close, but I might as well try with my 5* stud. Never know how things will work out.

Manipuri!

Finally got her! Gonna hold onto her to make the two breeds that Manipuris make, which hopefully goes a little faster.

Quest Complete 29 Jan 23!

Sumbawa: Sumbawa: Tarpan x Sumba
Foals Bred: 13
I have a Tarpan mare from breeding Exmoors, so I'd like to get Sumbawas out of the way.

23 Jan: The stud I was using is out of energy, and I suspect the others available will be less good, so I'm gonna start working on breeding my own Sumba

26 Jan: All available Sumba studs are out of energy, so I'm going to have to breed my own, but Sumbawas are currently on hold until then.

28 Jan: Still haven't managed to breed a Sumba, so I started over from scratch since my Mongolians are honestly awful for breeding anything (and I am silently cursing past me for breeding giant Mongolians). I've bred Mongolians and Chinese Ponies, both of which are 5* for Sumba. Unfortunately, all I'm getting are colts, so I may have to breed my existing Mongolian mares to my new normal sized stallions.

Sumbawa

And done! That took too long, but I guess on the plus side, I've also got normal size Mongolians now which will be useful for breeding other things.

Quest Complete 29 Jan 23!

TB: (Arabian x NAB) x (Akhal-Teke x Galloway)
Foals Bred: 19
My main project at the moment. I should have started breeding recipe horses but I didn't, so I have bred my Akhal-Teke mare to a Galloway and I have an Arabian x NAB. There seem to be plenty of Arabian x NAB studs available, so hopefully I can use those.

I do have this cute NAB x Arabian mare from when I was breeding WABs, and fortunately she never sold. She's too short and bulky, so she might not actually work out, but I'll breed her once I have a stud available.

22 Jan: I have 3 Akhal-Teke x Galloway mares and 2 Arabian x NAB mares, and a fourth Akhal-Teke x Galloway is almost breeding age. Had a few near misses and with this many mares, it hopefully won't take too long.

TB is complete!

Once all my mares have their foals, I'll be selling or rehoming them. There's plenty of TBs on the market, and I'll be using those for breeding projects.

Bashkir, Poney Mousseye, Cleveland Bay - COMPLETE!

Post by Corvus »

Bashkir: (Tarpan x Turkemene) x Mongolian
Foals Bred: 27
I've got plenty of Mongolians so might gonna be trying to breed these. I also have a Turkmene mare just hanging around, so I've bred her to a Tarpan. Haven't bought the book for these so just guessing.

23 Jan: No luck with my Mongolian mares ('cause they're all giant except one that's tiny) but my Turkmene x Tarpan mare is ready, so maybe she'll do better.

30 Jan: I was about to start breeding a perfect Tarpan x Turkmene since the foals I was getting were all over the place and none were super close except for one pairing - their first foal was a colt who was slightly too tall, so I decided I'd breed them again and look what I got!

Bashkir Filly

So this one is finally done and now to get rid of all my Tarpan x Turkmenes. I only have one colt who was being aged up so I'll rehome him, but I'll put the mares up for sale just in case anyone else wants them.

Quest Complete 30 Jan 23!

Poney Mousseye: Arabian x Nigerian
Foals Bred: 48
My Nigerian filly is almost ready to breed, and since this is a very simple cross, I can hopefully get this out of the way and also be able to get rid of the Nigerian mare.

26 Jan: Got the breed book and I don't think I can just breed my mare for this to work, as she's too horsey and Arabians are generally very horsey. Instead, I'll try breeding her to a pony-like grade horse and get a half-Nigerian who I can hopefully breed to an Arabian. I'll also breed one of my Arabian mares to an Arabian mix and see if I can make more pony-like Arabians, but that route will probably take longer.

30 Jan: So I'm just gonna go ahead and make some pony-like Arabians. Can't get a good combination of Arabian and Nigerians to make this work, and figure it'll be easier to work with Arabians since there's a nice, big population to start with. Since this breed is now my priority, I'll keep breeding my Nigerian mares just in case I get lucky.

5 Feb: I spent several days breeding some Arabians down to size that are more suitable for this. They're not perfect as I am struggling to hit the right height range. I also end up getting foals way out of range on bulkiness and horse/pony even when the parents are within range or close. I'm probably a few generations away from getting them more consistent, but I'm hoping I'll get the Poney Mousseye before then. I had one foal who was slightly too short. All the others I've bred have been too tall, so I'm hoping that pairing will be successful soon.

I'm currently speed breeding 6 mares for the Poney Mousseye and have a few more I might throw into the mix. I've basically started breeding Nigerians again too so I'll have quite a few to get rid of when this project is done. If it's ever done. But it is my main focus at the moment, so I'm hoping it'll only be 3 more rounds of foals or less.

6 Feb: I don't even know how many mares I had ready to pop, but it was more than 12. I was fully prepared for not a single one of them to give me a Poney Mousseye. And then, the first one to have her foal and it is over.

FINALLY

I AM FREE OF PONEY MOUSSEYE PAIN! Now to get rid of all these horses that I have. All the Nigerians will be up for sale and the Arabians will be rehomed or used to breed more weird little reject Arabians.

Quest Complete 6 Feb 23!

Cleveland Bay: TB x (Arabian x NAB)
Foals Bred: 7
Next step towards Finnish Universals. I have two Arabian x NAB mares and there are sufficient TB studs. Also picked up a few TB mares.

So five mares to start with, although one is kinda old but this one looks like it should be pretty easy.

23 Jan: I am so dumb. I forgot to transfer a mare back to my main before breeding and her foal was a Cleveland Bay but since my other account is the breeder, I didn't get credit  At least the stud still had energy to breed so hopefully the next foal is a Cleveland Bay too.

And here she is!

Cleveland Bay Filly

My other Cleveland Bay foal is a colt and I think they're unrelated so maybe I'll breed them.

Norfolk Trotter, Trakehner - Complete

Post by Corvus »

Norfolk Trotter: (TB x Cleveland Bay) x Cleveland Bay
Foals Bred: 4
I made a few Cleveland Bay x TB crosses and aged them up. I have 3 mares and 3 stallions. They're all too tall except for this guy who is a 5* Norfolk Trotter.

I only have one Cleveland Bay mare so I'll probably be getting rid of the other two mix stallions since they're not gonna be helpful. I was just using them while waiting for the 5* to age up.

Norfolk Trotter!

That went very quick once I realized the right combo to breed lmao.

Quest Complete 26 Jan 23!

Trakehner: (Turkmene x Mongolian) x (Arabian x TB)
Foals Bred: 2
Since I had all the breeds I need for the parents, I decided to go ahead and start on these.

I have this TB x Arabian stallion

Tangent Winter

And this Turkmene x Mongolian filly I'm aging up

I'll probably use my Turkmene mare to make a few more crosses unless these two are successful immediately.

Success!

Only took two tries for this one!

Holstein, Bhutia, Spiti - complete

Post by Corvus »

Holstein: (TB x Trakehner) x (Norfolk Trotter x Cleveland Bay)
Foals Bred: 15
Got a Cleveland x Norfolk mare aged up and ready to go.

Armed Lace

Also have this guy

Cleveland x Norfolk colt

But he's pretty far off from what I need, so unless I can get a TB x Trakehner mare that's all wrong in the opposite ways, I may not use him, although I like his color, which is the only real reason he's hanging around still.

I'd just started really ramping up for Holsteins, and had two mares that were decent and one 5* stallion. Once they were old enough to breed, it didn't take too long to get a Holstein.

Now that I've gotten this far on my way to Finnish Universals, I'm gonna sell off all my Norfolk Trotters, Cleveland Bays, and Trakehners along with the recipe horses for the Holstein. I'll need the breeds again later, but I'm gonna be hopeful that there will be some available to buy when I'm ready. If not, I'll just have to breed from scratch again.

Quest Complete 30 Jan 23!

Bhutia: WAB x Tibetan Pony
Foals Bred: 5
I've got Tibetan Ponies, I've got WABs so might as well try to cross this off now. All of my Tibetan Ponies are too short and too bulky, and many of my WABs are too tall. Many of them are also unfortunately too bulky or on the bulkier side of the range.

Cherry Ice

This WAB mare is slightly too tall and 1% too horse, but her bulk is within range, so I'm hoping she'll succeed with one of my Tibetan stallions. I have a WAB stallion who is too tall and bulkiness within range who could pair with my Tibetan mare, but she's busy working on Spitis. But if I get a Spiti right away, I'll breed her to him.

I'll also be using some of my other WAB mares for this even though they don't have great chances of producing a Bhutia, but they're not doing anything else. If this happens to be another one of those breeds that seems to take too long, I'll breed more WABs that are hopefully on the shorter, less bulky side of things.

And done!

Only a few more breeds out of the Tibetan Pony left

Quest Complete 31 Jan 23!

Spiti: Arabian x Tibetan Pony
Foals Bred: 8
Again, I've got the horses for this, so let's just hope it doesn't take too long.

Pure Dew

She's a 5* Spiti, so she'll be crossed to an Arabian, although there probably aren't many Arabians out there with the right build. I do have a half Arabian stallion who might work out though.

Magnetic Arrowhead

He's too tall and not quite bulky enough, but Dew is on the higher end of the bulkiness range, and 6% under is much better than the 15+ I'd probably have from standard Arabians.

Took a little longer than I was hoping for, but wasn't too hard to get this one checked off!

Spiti

Hanoverian, Anglo-Arabian, Zaniskari Pony - complete

Post by Corvus »

Hanoverian: TB x Holstein
Foals Bred: 11
So my Holstein I bred is a colt and all the TBs I still have are mares. Cool. That works out. But wait, what's this?

He's a 5* for Hanoverian?

Wow, that's convenient. But wait! There's more!

She's 5* too???

Now watch. These two that are perfect on paper will take forever to produce a Hanoverian. I do have two other TB mares, but don't look promising. I may breed them to other TBs to improve them a bit, as I'll also need TBs for Anglo-Arabians.

5 Feb: Can't believe these two horses giving me bad foals. Some have been near misses, so I'll keep going with them. If my mare starts getting up there in age, I may breed her to a TB cause I really like her and I know I'll need more TBs going forward and would like to have foals out of her.

Once I get the Poney Mousseye, Hanoverians will be my next main focus, so I'll probably end up buying a few TBs if needed. But I'm really hoping my mare comes through for me.

6 Feb: Picked up two new TB mares and bred my existing mare to make more TBs. She was bred to a TB who was 5* for Hanoverian but so far has not made a 5* foal, so as much as I like that horse, she is clearly the issue. She did produce a foal who is 5* for Anglo-Arabians so I guess that's something. But I'll need TBs down the line anyway so it's all good.

And I know she was the problem because I got another TB who is a 5* Hanoverian and her very first foal with the 5* stallion and I got a Hanoverian.

Beyond Sunshine

I might try to breed a few more since I can't start working towards the East Friesian until I get the Anglo-Arabian. Except I just checked and I have the East Friesian quest unlocked so maybe I'll be okay with one Hanoverian.

Quest Complete 6 Feb 23!

Anglo-Arabian: TB x (Arabian x TB)
Foals Bred: 8
I actually already started on these, but wasn't planning on really working on them until I'd cleared out some of my other in progress breeds. So I have one mare who is currently pregnant.

TB mare

She's just slightly too short and a little bit too bulky, but I bred her to a stallion who is 4*. He's too tall, so hopefully things work out between them fairly quickly. I'll probably have her dedicated to making the Anglo-Arabians since she's 12% too horse and the horse/pony numbers are always the ones that give me the most difficulty.

6 Feb: Still running the single mare, but switched up the stud, so now she's bred to one who is only slightly too tall. I have a few of her foals that are also TB x Arabian, so when they're aged up, I'll use them for breeding too.

8 Feb: Why does it always happen that when I get a bunch of foal all aged up and ready to really start breeding for something that I finally get the breed?

Lavender Fern

So this one is done and she's a filly, so it's easier to breed a few horses to help with the East Friesian. Once I get the East Friesian, I'll probably sell off any Anglo-Arabians I have even though there's a lot more to breed from them, but nothing I'll be working on anytime soon. Hopefully they're common enough I'll be able to buy some when I need them again.

I'm sure there's more breeds that need TB x Arabian crosses but I don't feel like looking them up now (both breeds have too many created breeds lmao) but they're both so common I shouldn't have issues making new ones when I need them.

Quest Complete 8 Feb 23!

Zaniskari Pony: Manipuri Pony x Tibetan Pony
Foals Bred: 3
This one may get tricky because I only have one singular Manipuri Pony.

And to make matters worse, she's only 2*, although she's only 1% too pony and a bit too short. There are two studs available as of right now with near full energy. They're both also slightly off in different areas, but if nothing else, I can make myself more Manipuris if needed, although I may do this sooner rather than later just in case they lose energy or are removed from stud.

On the Tibetan side of things, it's not much better. My two stallions are both too short as well, although one is 4* and he's actually at the bottom of the Zaniskari height range. I assume there's a hidden decimal somewhere that prevents him from being 5*. There are also a few studs available that are a bit taller but haven't checked any of them to see if they're otherwise suitable.

I have one Tibetan mare who might be useful.

3* Zaniskari

She's 1% too pony, so I'll age her up and breed her to one of the available Manipuri studs.

Zaniskari

Amazing. The mare I used to get her is a 0* for Zaniskaris, while my 3* mare just gave me a cross breed. At least I can cross this one off the list.

Burma Pony, Indian Country Bred - complete

Post by Corvus »

Burma Pony: Manipuri Pony x Mongolian
Foals Bred: 6
This is the last breed I need to make from the Manipuri Pony :) I have tons of Mongolians to work with but most aren't too great. I do have this nice 4* mare though.

Хун ээжийн домог

My Manipuri mare is about to have a foal so I'll have a second Manipuri, but not likely to be good for the Burma. All my Mongolians and my Manipuri are too bulky and too pony for the Burma. I'll probably see if I can find a grade horse to breed one of my Mongolians to in order to get a better match. Might do the same with my Manipuri since she's at the top of the range for bulkiness and too pony.

Also, I am probably going to be cursing my dumb little idea of giving my Monglians names in Mongolian. But I'm also not going to change it so.

2 Feb: I've been focused on getting Arabians for Poney Mousseyes that I completely forgot I had two mares for this breed ready to pop and surprise!

Burma Pony!

Burma Pony is an end breed, so I'm gonna put him up for sale or age him out if no one wants him. I also have no further use for Manipuri Ponies, so I'll be doing the same with those.

Quest Complete 2 Feb 23!

Indian Country Bred: Spiti x (Bhutia x Tibetan Pony)
Foals Bred: 4
The good news is that I have a good match with a Bhutia filly and Tibetan stallion

Stardust Cavern

Humble Glory

Both are 5*, so step one will be to age up Stardust and breed her to glory and hopefully get a good recipe horse out of them.

Now for the bad news.

I have one single Spiti filly.

Endless Sniper

She is only 3*, although she's not so far off that it's an impossible task. But there aren't and Spiti studs available, so it's gonna come down to her :( My Tibetan mares aren't exactly doing anything right now, so I'll go ahead and attempt to breed some more, but if it comes down to it, I can always breed a half Spiti.

5 Feb: Had a few near misses, but I'm fairly confident my solitary Spiti will work out. But since failures result in half Spitis, that at least gives me more to work with. Like this guy.

Tinsel Splinter

He's 2% too bulky for the Indian Country Bred, so I'll probably breed him to some other half Spitis and see if I get something 5* for ICB. I bred my Bhutia and Tibetan again so if I get a filly, I can breed her to him as well, although I'm not breeding the cross on fast mode. Poney Mousseyes and Hanoverians have priority over ICBs, but if I get both of those before, I'll put more effort into breeding Bhutia x Tibetans and making better Spitis.

Just when I thought I'd never see that little blue quest complete box again, I got this little filly!

Topaz Passion

With this breed complete, that means I can sell my filly, as well as all my Bhutias, Spitis, and Tibetan Ponies!

Batak, Cheju, Persian Arabian - complete

Post by Corvus »

Batak: Mongolian x (Arabian x Caspian)
Foals Bred: 4
Went through all my Mongolians and nearly every single one is too bulky, and usually by quite a bit. Not idea, but an Arabian x Caspian mix should be the opposite. However, I'd really prefer not to deal with a wide range of numbers since that tends to be messy and I end up with 1000 horses scattered across all my pastures.

I do have one Mongolian who might be useful.

Булган

He's too tall, but he's within range on bulkiness. I'll move him here to my main account so he won't age out too fast and will use him as a stud to breed more Mongolians who are hopefully a little less bulky and a bit shorter.

I'll be using my Reject Arabian line to cross to a few Caspians to see if I can get something useful for Bataks.

Okay here's my starting lineup for Batak breeding.

Орхон

She's a Mongolian and is just a bit too short for a Batak. I bred her to a stallion who is on the upper range for height, although he's not bulky enough and too horse, but only by a few percentage points so it could work, right?

Light Crane

She's a Caspain x Arabian. She's a little too bulky, and a lot too horse, but she's bred to Булган, so he's within range on those two, and Crane makes up for Булган's height.

Lunar the Trail

She's also a Caspian x Arabian. She's too short and too horse, but she is also bred to Булган, who could make up for her shortcomings, but it could take many tries.

I was sure this one was gonna take a while but surprise!

[horse=https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/3786105]Chimney Bird[/horse]

And it's an end breed so there's no need to keep him!

Quest Complete 8 Feb 23!

Cheju: Mongolian x (Mongolian x Arabian)
Foals Bred: 2
Nearly all my Mongolians are 5* for Chejus and with my Reject Arabians, I am somewhat hopeful that I can get a decent cross. Also, can I say I love when you breed a crossbreed back to one of the parent breeds? Cause even the failures result in foals that can be used to make the target breed.

There are two available Mongolian x Arabian studs, but neither are great for producing a Cheju, so I'm just gonna make my own.

Here's who I'm currently working with.

Night History

She's a Mongolian x Arabian, and she's so far off from a Cheju that I didn't even put how far off in her description. But I have her and a 5* stud, so might as well try it. Maybe she'll produce a useful foal?

Murderous Cinder

Another Mongolian x Arabian, although not quite so far off. She's just a little less bulky and a little too short, and the stallion makes up for both of those. I actually expect things from Cinder.

No Monsters in the Sea

And I got one! Sadly not an end breed, but they only make one other breed (although that then makes 3) so I might see if I can make the Hokkaido from my little Monster and then freeze the Hokkaido until I want to work on those breeds. Or I could freeze him? I think I'll just age him slowly on this account and see how I'm feeling when he's old enough to breed.

Quest Complete 8 Feb 23!

Persian Arabian: Arabian x (Caspian x Arabian)
Foals Bred: 24
Since I have Caspian x Arabians from breeding Bataks, might as well attempt this.

Lunar

She's the one who got me my Batak, and surprisingly not horrible for Persian Arabian. She's too short and just ever so slightly too bulky, but I can find a tall, non-bulky Arabian easy. My other Caspian x Arabian is far too bulky, although even that could work out with how unbulky Arabians are.

I may have a few more young Caspian x Arabians aging up although I'd have to check. I know one of my two Caspian mares died, but I should still have one and I'll breed her to a more suitable Arabian. But if I don't have that Caspian or she dies before I can breed her and the horses I have no are no good, I'll just put this one on pause as I'm only doing it since I already have one part of the mix.

Took a bit longer than I thought but here he is!

Aimless Wrangler

Not gonna keep him and will rehome/age out all my Caspian x Arabians just to make space. Hopefully I'll be able to buy a Persian Arabian when I need them for other projects. Or if I do get a filly from one of my many other mares still pregnant, I'll freeze her.
