Really? Red Strength?

Post by Palecat »

This is something I've noticed. Some reds don't make any sense at all.
This filly has 41 in Strength and yet it's red.

I have a few others like that too. I don't think the horse guy knows anything. Is this a bug?

Definitely NOT a bug. :)

The conformation scores are solely for how your horse's body is formed for that stat. So, your horse has a lot of strength in her body. But there's more to our stats then just how the body stacks up. The horses also have genes for each stat too. And this is separate from the body conformation.

So, your filly has terrible strength genes. But excellent body conformation for strength.

The BR helps us to determine just where the genes are and the conformation report helps us hone in on if the body is failing, or the genes are. The conformation scores actually factor in much less into the overall. The genes are the bulk of the stat count.

There's heavy reading found here: http://www.horseworldonline.net/forum/v ... 4535&hilit

You don't need to know the intricacies to get ahead, but if you're really having a hard time understanding how the genes interact with the body form (the conformation), it could help clear things up.

To make it really easy: Build the genes first, this would be your Breeding Report, and then at about 50k to 55k HGP, start building the conformation scores.

But for a competition line, work with the competition scores themselves, the best scores to the best scores and keep only the foals that at least match that same parent's gender (filly meets the mare, colt meets the stallion).
