Driving Newsletter July Issue #14 Image Image Image

Announcements

Welcome to the driving newsletter! This newsletter consists of four driving disciplines: driven dressage, log pull, marathon driving, and obstacle driving. Please check out the Racing and Driving Communications Forum if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Thanks for reading!

Driven Dressage

Spotlight

HorzeCollector003 has been breeding some excellent driven dressage competitors, including Unnamed Horse, who has a grand champion title and a 93.8% WPS. He has even gotten scores above 54% -- his best is 54.7% in this competition. He has won 16 of his 32 starts in driven dressage. This Friesian x Trakehner colt is also doing pretty well in dressage, his sire is the current L7 record holder!

-DB4E- Dark Trees is another amazing driven dressage horse bred and owned by HorzeCollector003. He has a champion title and currently maintains a perfect WPS, winning 12 of his 16 starts. Additionally, he is very close to breaking a record! His best score is 55.41% in this competition.

[A] Eloquent Koala 51 - 42

This lovely black Friesian x Trakehner colt is bred and owned by Eugene. He is doing quite well in dressage, but is also dominating driven dressage! His best score is 55.7% in this competition, although he's not as stellar as Eugene's other driven dressage horses (such as their record holders!), he still is a very nice horse. Eloquent Koala also has a champion title and a perfect WPS in driven dressage.

Log Pull

Spotlight

Belgian mare Unnamed Horse has a master grand champion title and an almost perfect WPS of 98.8%. Bred and owned by mintysugarhorse, She has won 44 of her 80 starts in log pull so far, and her best score so far is 62.76 in this competition. This mare is quite incredible herself, imagine what she could produce if bred to the right stallion!

Belgians are the true masters at log pull -- every current record holder in the discipline is a Belgian! Although we have seen some other breeds participating in log pull competitions, none of them have been able to top the Belgians. :FCS: (ETP) Sunset Clouds is one of those exceptional Belgians who is on top of the competitions. With a master grand champion title, and a 72.2% WPS, he has won 24 of his 97 starts. He is bred by FreedomCalls and owned by BellaOldWild, his best score in log pull is 62.07 in this competition.

$ℱ~ My Apologies

Maybe American Saddlebreds and Belgians crossed will create a great log pull competitor? That's exactly what happened! Although I believe he is mostly Belgian, My Apologies is part ASB and is doing outstanding in log pull! Of course, he is bred and owned by Sawd10, who is still breeding these fine log pullers, marathon drivers, and obstacle drivers! Anyways, this colt has a supreme champion title and a 99.4% WPS in log pull. He has won 133 of his 157 starts so far -- he's winning pretty much every competition he's entered in! His best score so far is 65.71 in this competition -- most of the current log pull record holders are in the high 66s to low 67s -- meaning this colt is kind of close to breaking a record!

Marathon Driving

Spotlight

Our most recent record holder and last month's MD spotlight, $ℱ~ Boxer is another one of Sawd10's fabulous Belgian x American Saddlebreds. He is currently dominating all marathon driving competitions, and he has a master grand champion title and a 98.1% WPS. Boxer has won 69 of his 105 starts so far, and his best score so far is 20.4 in this competition. Marathon driving is sort of like cross country -- the lower the score, the better.

Frost's Thoroughbreds are also starting to make an appearance in marathon driving as well! FF Clay Riverhas a champion title and a low WPS of 60%, but his great scores make up for the low WPS. Besides, he is facing some tough competition, making his WPS drop. He has only won 7 of his 35 starts, but his best score is 23.6 in this competition. Although he is doing well in marathon driving, I think that he prefers cross country and obstacle driving. After all, his sire is one of the most incredible cross country record holders on the game!

FF Red Storm

Although she was bred for cross country (her sire is a CC record holder), Red Storm is doing amazing in marathon and obstacle driving! This beautiful red dun Thoroughbred x Belgian mare has a grand champion title and an 88.6% WPS in marathon driving, and she has won 16 of her 35 starts. Her best score so far is 22.1 in this competition, which I believe, is one of the best scores a mare has ever gotten in marathon driving!

Obstacle Driving

You may recognize her from the previous MD spotlight -- yes, FF Red Storm is also beating all those colts in obstacle driving! She has a grand champion title and a 94.2% WPS, and she has won 27 of her 52 starts. Her best score is 56.94 in this competition, which most OD world records are in the 58 to 59 range so I would say she is even close to breaking a record! Congratulations, Frost on this filly who is amazing in three disciplines!

Unnamed Horse is a Belgian mare who has no titles yet, and an 85.7% WPS in obstacle driving, but she is still quite good in the discipline. She has won 4 of her 7 starts, and her best score is 50.39 in this competition.

FF Red Ridge

This beautiful flaxen chestnut Belgian x Thoroughbred colt is of course, bred and owned by Frost. He was originally bred for cross country, his sire is a record holder, but he is excelling in marathon and obstacle driving as well. In obstacle driving, he has a grand champion title and a 93.5% WPS. Winning 20 of his 46 starts, his best score so far is 55.82 in this competition.
