Issue #9- May 1, 2020

Announcements:
Welcome to May's issue of Horse World Online's Monthly Racing Newsletter.

As always, please feel free to leave me any suggestions, questions, or comments on the communications forum located here.

General News:

Competitions:

Get your racehorses ready because KYTrainer has organized a whole set of racing competitions!
A message from them:
Miracle Sunrise Farms Racing World Tour

—> 11 races
—> 12 million dollars in prizes
—> Open to all breeds
—> Needing more entries
—> Registration ends May 10
—> Looking for sponsors (money, trained horses, studdings, etc.)
—> More info here

I look forward to seeing you there!
Cheers, KYTrainer
Endurance:

Rising Stars:

Ch. ♕ Itako ♕

Ch. ♕ Itako ♕ is surely a very talented Thoroughbred. Even though his pedigree shows great potential in Racing BillyQuint/FameDaLupa has made the right choice and competed him in Endurance and as of now, the stallion seems to have surpassed his father in both scores and win percentage! As of now, he has a 100% win percentage out of 45 starts!

This Thoroughbred has made an impressive score of 19.13 hours, a result that this month no horse has managed to reach. (Flying High)

FameDaLupa it seems that your racehorses will soon excell in Endurance as well

Ch. ~DB4E~ Lost Trick

This grullo Thoroughbred, bred by Delboiz4ever, is showing quite the talent in the Endurance discipline. Out of 17 starts, he has a nice win percentage of 100. With a good win percentage and an amazing score of 19.24 hours (Endurance Ride by the Sea) I see him being one of the top best-competing Thoroughbreds.

♕ Ragaevon ♕

This stunning Thoroughbred, bred by FameDaLupa, with again a win percentage of 100 out of 29 starts has made an impression on me with his amazing score of 19.29 hours (Endurance Ride by the Sea).

His talent in Endurance surprises me since his sire, the famous SMGCh.++ Rh ♕ Seabiscuit 01:58.64 ♕, was not the best Endurance Thoroughbred. Then again with FameDaLupa's breeding skills, this Thoroughbred turned out to have quite a potential.

GCh.♕ Pale Runner ♕

Yet again another stallion, a beautiful one may I add, bred by FameDaLupa makes his appearance. His win percentage may not be that good considering the fact that Ch. ♕ Itako ♕ has a 100% win percentage and is only missing 7 starts, as of now, to reach GCh.♕ Pale Runner ♕ but he again shows his potential and talent with great results.

The Thoroughbred's best score is 19.27 hours! (Endurance +4)

☼MSF☼ The Sea Tumbles

☼MSF☼ The Sea Tumbles is the last horse that we will see in this section this month. This Thoroughbred bred by KYTrainer shows potential in Endurance. Even though the Endurance discipline does not appear in his pedigree KYTrainer instead of competing him in racing rightfully decided to compete him in Endurance and as of now, he has not let down anyone.

With a good score of 19.48 hours (Endurance for Beginners) he will surely provide a great stud for KYTrainer's stock.

Races:

This month *** The Grande Royale Endurance Get-Together *** (1/month) took place. Out of the 30 horses that competed GCh. ℒℋ Cross Punch placed first! Earning himself $27,593 and
239 points!

One of the competitions with the highest purse that took place this month was Empire’s Endurance Gold Rush. The competition had an impressive starting purse of $5,250,751 and GCh. ++ {W} Smoking Glory earned $2,047,793 after winning the first place!

Featured Horse:

Ch. ♕ Itako ♕

Ch. ♕ Itako ♕, one of our rising stars, is a horse that you definitely need to keep your eye on. With such great results at such an early stage, he will make his way to the top in no time! Especially since he is the fastest Endurance horse that is currently competing!

Harness Racing:

Records:

MGCh.++ RHTiesto HS

Isn't his fluffy mane just perfect? Such a beautiful and talented horse!
After breaking the level 1 and 3 world record of Harness Racing the previous month he managed to surprise as yet again. On April 8th he broke the level 10 world record! Another amazing accomplishment for our 20-year-old world record holder!

To paintarab's dismay the level 10 world record was later on broken by non-other than
SGCh.++ Rh♕ Middeneaht 01:59.72 ♕

This Thoroughbred managed to break again the level 10 world record, after MGCh.++ RHTiesto HS surpassed his score, with an amazing time of 02:33.03 minutes!

FameDaLupa's Thoroughbred, even after being competitive in Harness Racing for almost a year (first competition: May 19th, 2019), still manages to break world records until this day!
A truly amazing horse!

Ch. RH♘ Nightfall ♘

The combination of the champagne and dun gene with that beautiful blanket does wonders on this horse. He is truly stunning.
This amazing colt, bred by D.M Boarding, after only 5 starts in Harness Racing he breaks the level 2 world record with a time of 02:33.93 minutes!

Rising Stars:

Ch. RH♘ Nightfall ♘

Our new record holder definitely deserves this place! With already a world record broken after entering a few competitions there are definitely high chances of him breaking more in the future!

After all, he comes from SMGCh.++ Rh ♕ Seabiscuit 01:58.64 ♕, who, after being competitive for so long, still keeps on breaking world records as well.

Ch. Bad Surprise HS

What a beautiful mark he has! And a great talent in Harness Racing as well! With results around 02:35 minutes, sometimes even under, he can be a challenge for many horses. Good job LilyTromp! Both on the pattern and the talent!

MCh. ++ ~RRS~ Red Whisper

This Thoroughbred, owned by h0rsey2, apart from showing talent in Racing with results that go below 2 minutes he has great potential in Harness Racing as well.
With his good win percentage and results, he has proven himself as a great racehorse.

Races:

The 10 million dollar competition hosted by Bombcilla was won by {RTG} Black Arrow, who managed to win 3,9 million dollars!

The Bolthaven 'The Two Hundred' Weekly Harness Races was won both times by SGCh.++ Rh♕ Middeneaht 01:59.72 ♕ with an amazing result of 02:33.13 minutes!

Featured Horse:

Ch. RH♘ Nightfall ♘

Ch. RH♘ Nightfall ♘ is truly an amazing Harness Racer, with both an outstanding performance and appearance he can be an amazing competitor as well as sire to many horses.

This horse has already proven himself by breaking world records after having competed in only a few starts, which makes me confident enough to say that the horse will soon have more achievements.

Racing:

Records:

SMGCh.++ Rh ♕ Rhaego 01:58.59 ♕

This Thoroughbred on April 22nd, 2020 broke the level 10 world record with an amazing result of 01:58.59 minutes! This stallion has definitely surpassed the results of his world record holder sire! With such a good pedigree it is no wonder that this horse managed to break several world records!

Unfortunately the level 10 world record a few days later was broken by SCh.++ Rh ♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕!

This stallion, bred by non-other than FameDaLupa, managed to break the level 10 world record. What surprised me the most was the fact that he broke the world record with a score of 01:58.58 minutes while the previous world record was 01:58.59 minutes!

To FameDaLupa's dismay, the world record was yet again broken by Bitapetrone's stallion 2 hours later.

MGCh. Rh∰ Seath de Whyle -- 62* 43* 29 62* -- 1.58.48

This stallion managed to change the level 10 world record with a score of 01:58.48 minutes!

Unfortunately MGCh. Rh∰ Seath de Whyle -- 62* 43* 29 62* -- 1.58.48's victory was short lived as SCh.++ Rh ♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕ managed to break the level 10 world record yet again with the exact same time

SCh.++ Rh ♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕ broke the level 6 world record with a score of 01:58.67 minutes!

However, Bitapetrone's stallion, MCh. RH ∰ Sulyvahn de Whyle -- 61* 46* 26 61* -- 1:58.17, a few days later breaks the level 6 world record

MGCh. Rh∰ Seath de Whyle -- 62* 43* 29 62* -- 1.58.48 broke the level 5 world record with an amazing time of 01:58.58 minutes!

However, 1 day later SCh.++ Rh ♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕ broke again the world record with a time of 01:58.48 minutes

On April 25th MGCh. Rhℳℐ Angelic Spell with a time of 01:58.92 minutes broke the level 4 world record

But later on the world record was set at 01:58.48 minutes by MGCh. Rh∰ Seath de Whyle -- 62* 43* 29 62* -- 1.58.48

GCh.+ RB♕ Zeragio 01:59.09 ♕

This Thoroughbred, yet again, bed by FameDaLupa broke the level 3 world record with a time of 01:59.09 minutes.

FameDaLupa's stallion, SCh.++ Rh ♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕, two weeks later broke again the world record.

Bitapetrone's Thoroughbred, MGCh. Rh∰ Seath de Whyle -- 62* 43* 29 62* -- 1.58.48, yet again changed the world record the same day with a time of 01:58.67 minutes

The world record, for the third and last time, was changed by an amazing thoroughbred bred by D.M Boarding.

Ch. RH♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18

This amazing Thoroughbred with a score of 01:58.18 minutes broke the world record for the last time. For the next 4 hours Ch. RH♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18 was the fastest horse ever bred on HWO.

Unfortunately for D.M Boarding, the title was later on handed to our current fastest horse, RH ƛϝ℩ Maeden

I present to you the fastest horse on HWO! He will surely make the Thoroughbred breed even more famous now.
RH ƛϝ℩ Maeden, with a jaw-dropping time of 01:58.12 broke the level 1 world record that was previously broken by our second fastest horse, Ch. RH♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18.

Rising Stars:
Ch. RH♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18

D.M Boarding's stallion definitely deserves to be in this section. He is the second-fastest horse ever bred and let's not forget that apart from his performance he has an amazing color as well! With such a nice color and results I am sure that he will be the sire of the next fastest stallion ever bred!

RH ƛϝ℩ Maeden

If the second fastest horse deserves to be on this section then the fastest horse should definitely be here. It should be noted though that the difference between our fastest horse and our second fastest is not that big (01:58.12 and 01:58.18 minutes ) but then again those milliseconds make the difference.

Races:
The8 million dollar competition, hosted by Soaring Hooves, took place this month.
SMGCh.++ Rh ⚡ WHRTB Flametail won the competition with a ascore of 01:59.59 minutes, earning 3,2 million dollars!

The second high purse competition is train hard race hard that was won by MGCh. Rhℳℐ Angelic Spell

Featured Horse:
RH ƛϝ℩ Maeden

This month as we all know our fastest horse was born and competed! RH ƛϝ℩ Maeden is a horse that we definitely need to keep our eye on. With good results in such an early stage, I am sure that the score of 01:58.12 minutes will soon be surpassed and more world records will be broken. After all horses after being competitive fir over a year still break world records!
Good job Dreamwood13! This stallion is one of a kind!

Sprint Racing:

Rising Stars:
Ch. RH♘ Nightfall ♘

Our new Harness Racing world record holder seems to be doing well in almost every racing discipline. From the 23 starts that he has run, the good win percentage and nice results definitely suggest that Sprint Racing is one of his top best disciplines as well!

Races:

The Racing Belgians 20 million dollar competition took place many times this month and managed to give the many horses that placed first almost 8 million dollars. One of the winners is Lemon Fog who for a Belgian and a mare seems to be doing well in Sprint racing.

$HWEC$ Sprint Racing, this sprint racing competition was won by Grand's Prodigy who on his way to the top managed to beat a world record holder and earned 877k!

Featured Horse:

Ch. RH♘ Nightfall ♘

Our featured horse is our rising star! Isn't he such a great racehorse? With good results in almost every Racing discipline and a talent for both Harness Racing Racing Sprint racing, he will soon become one of the top sprint racers! Keep up the hard work!

Steeplechase:

Records:
SMGCh.+ Rh DMRTB Firestorm

On April 2nd D.M Boarding's Thoroughbred set the level 9 world record to a score of 10:15.26 minutes!

Unfortunately for D.M Boarding, the record was again changed by PeacefulOreo's thoroughbred!

SMGCh.++ Rh ⚡ WHRTB Flametail

With the amazing score of 10:14.52 minutes, this stallion adds a new broken world record in his collection

SCh.++ Rh ♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕ apart from being an amazing horse in Racing, now manages to set a new level 9 world record! This stallion beats SMGCh.++ Rh ⚡ WHRTB Flametail's score with an impressive result of 10:11.09!

FameDaLupa's stallion manages to break the level 8 world record with an even more impressive score of 10:09.73 minutes! And of course this amazing stallion bream the level 2 and 4 world record on April 29th a d 30th!

Rising Stars:
GCh. WHRTB Hurricane

Good job PeacefulOreo! This horse seems to have a talent in Steeplechasing as well!
With results around 10:16 minutes, I see a great future in front of him!
With talent in both Racing and Steeplechasing, he will make a wonderful stud for your stock!

Featured Horse:
SCh.++ Rh ♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕

Our featured horse is non-other than one of the best racehorses out there! With plenty of world records and talents, he seems to also be quite the competitor in Steeplechasing as well! We will soon see more records being added to his achievements that's for sure!

Welcome to My first newsletter! I hope you like it, if you have any suggestions for me please ping me here: https: http://www.horseworldonline.net/forum/v ... =8&t=25199
I am known as CRUNCHY IS THE BEST and I am very excited to be writing this for you guys! I saw that “mllotfus” needed a newsletter writer so I volunteered! Hopefully I will be doing this from now on!

A little about me!
I have been on HWO for about a year now, I love it! I have done breeding, boarding and I have just started training! I love racehorses so I am very glad I stumbled upon that in particular ad!

My deadline is the first of every month, so I will be posting then!

Interviews
So for the next few moths I will be privately chatting with some of the hottest racehorse breeders and the smart owners who are in the winners circle!

(Couldn't get an interview here :(, But I think you should still read about her wonderful horses!)
“FameDaLupa’s” horses came up more then a few times in the “Top Ranking Horses” Specifically (Racing,Wins all genders). This horse right here has shown put all of the experienced to shame!
(AKA Seabiscuit)

Has placed 3rd in the finest of the finest with 394 wins this horse is working it’s way up to first place. Imagine what it would be like to be her/him! FameDaLupa has another horse and this horse didn’t place 3rd, But this horse isn’t exactly a slacker either
(AKA Rhaego)

Has had 243 wins and is only 3 years old!

“Bitapetrone’s” horse (AKA Daedalus de Whyle)

Has come in 1st place for (Racing,Wins all genders). This is a HUGE accomplishment! Bitapetrone has another horse that showed up as well! In 14th place
(AKA Iudex Gundyr de Whyle)

He has won over 210 races! Bitapetrone should be proud!

Interview with Bitapetrone...

Me: Okay so..
Nice to be talking to you Bitapetrone!
Hey, i'm sure lots of us are wondering why is your username "Bitapetrone"?
Would you mind telling us?

Bitapetrone:When my friend and I were 11 playing our first MMO we didn't know what to call ourselves. So we booted up a game I had at the time called Gallop Racer that had really silly generated names. She went with LemonExcess and I went with Bitopetrone, but apparently forgot how to spell it on my way to character creation because I put in Bitapetrone. It was so goofy it grew on me and I've kept it ever since.

Me: So, cool!
Let's talk more about racing...
So How did you get into racing?

Bitapetrone:It was a record I hadn't beaten yet at the time and I wanted to go for it.

Me: What is your favourite thing about racing?
Bitapetrone: As it relates to the game, I like that it is one of the more active disciplines, though I am not really a huge racing fan in general. I actually prefer the Working Ranch/Cutting/Reining disciplines as it's more what I am keen on in real life, but they just aren't as active as racing here with regards to pushing scores.

Me: So you have a horse then? (In real life I mean)

Bitapetrone:Yes. I have a 32 year old grade pony (13.3H, so a large pony) who I've had since I was 9. His name is Sebastian. I used to do jumper and small-fry eventing on him when I was younger, as well as fun shows, trails and the like.

Me: Wow, 32 years old! Sebastian sounds like a lovely horse!
Do you currently have any race horses up for sale?

Bitapetrone:I don't sell horses very much, but I might be selling more in the future. I can't really say one way or the other, sort of depends on what kind of stock I get and how lazy I get. If I sold any horses they would most likely be broodmare (or competition, if the buyer chooses to train them) prospects.
Me: Thank-you so much for answering my questions and I hope people know a little more about you now!

Next month I will be interviewing the top horses and owners in “Harness Racing Wins”!

Re: Horse World Online Monthly Racing Newsletter- NINTH ISSUE OUT

Post by Veterinarian »

Issue #9- June 1, 2020

Announcements:
Welcome to June's issue of Horse World Online's Monthly Racing Newsletter.

This is the part 2 of June's racing newsletter!
I must apologize for this issue getting published this late, there were a lot of miscommunications with the writers.

Keep in mind that this issue will cover everything from the 1st to 31th of May not until 8th of June!

As always, please feel free to leave me any suggestions, questions, or comments on the communications forum located here.

General News:

Competitions:

Even though no more horses can be entered in KYTrainer's world tour the event is far from over!

With the results of the The American Cup out the rest of the competition series can now begin!

The next competition, whose link has not yet been given, is called The European Cup and the results will be featured in next month's issue!

_________
A new event called the HWO Breeders Cup is being hosted by h0rsey! Even though this event hosts only 1 competition in contrast with KYTrainer's world tour, the starting purse is really high and has a difference of 2 mill dollars with KYTrainer's event!

Details:
What this is about:
You will have until June 17th to get your horse ready for the competition. The entry fee is $1 million and the purse is $10 million. This is for colts and fillies, 1-3 years old. The race will be held on level 6
__
The level of comp is great for our new racehorses considering the fact that higher level horses will not be given the chance to enter this medium level comp!

For more details about the requirements and entries click here

Racing:

Records:
Level 10:
∰ Sulyvahn de Whyle -- 61* 46* 26 61* -- 1:58.17

SGCh. Rh∰ Sulyvahn de Whyle -- 61* 46* 26 61* -- 1:58.17, our third fastest horse who only beats the fourth fastest horse SMGCh.++ Rh ♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18 with a 1 millisecond difference, on May 2nd broke the level 10 world record with his fastest time of 01:58.17 minutes! (ℳℐ Golden Cup #11)

However, eight days later the world record was broken:
∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01

SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01 with a jaw dropping time of 01:58.01 minutes, the fastest time that a horse has ever run here on HWO broke the level 10 world record! (ℳℐ Golden Cup #6)

Level 9:
∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01

SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01, eight days after breaking the level 10 world record added another record in his collection. The record was of course broken with his iconic time of 01:58.01 minutes! ( Level9 Racing Stakes - surprisingly the second level 9 competition he has ever entered)

Level 8:
∰ Sulyvahn de Whyle -- 61* 46* 26 61* -- 1:58.17

SGCh. Rh∰ Sulyvahn de Whyle -- 61* 46* 26 61* -- 1:58.17, yet again broke another world record. This time he broke it with a time of 01:58.34 minutes, not his best time but still impressive nonetheless. (L8 Racing)

Of course his victory was short lived because 5 days the fastest horse here on HWO broke it again
∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01

SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01, with a time of 01:58.2 minutes broke the level 8 world record yet again. With SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01's PPS level being level 7 he or one of the 4 fastest horses on HWO will soon break the record again. (L8 Racing - the first level 8 competition he ever entered, beginner's luck ;) )

Level 7:
This month the level 7 world record was broken 7 times (coincidence? I don't think so  )

Our fastest horse SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01 and our fourth fastest horse SMGCh.++ Rh ♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18 competed with each other for 6 days in total for who would be crowned as the level 7 world record holder.

Of course, in the end our fastest horse SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01 broke, for the last time this month, the level 7 world record with a time that is 3 milliseconds slower than his iconic time, but nonetheless, still a time that no other horse has reached.

Level 6:

ƛϝ℩ Maeden

This amazing Thoroughbred bred by Dreamwood13 managed to break the level 6 world record with a time of 01:58.25 minutes! However, four days later the famous SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01 broke the level again with a 5 millisecond difference.

Level 5:

Another world record was broken by SMGCh.++ Rh ♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18. One of D.M Boarding's best racehorses. Fortunately this time this amazing racehorse managed to hold on to the title and not get beaten by our fastest racehorse yet again. Now the level 6 world record has been reset to a time if 01:58.18 minutes.

Level 3:
The first of May our fourth fastest racehorse SMGCh.++ Rh ♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18 broke his second, at the time, world record with his fastest time of 01:58.18 minutes!

However, the world record was broken by ƛϝ℩ Maeden, who with his amazing score of 01:58.16 minute time stole the 3rd position of our fastest horses here on HWO!

Of course, the world record was later on broken by SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01 with his fastest time of 01:58.01 minutes.

Level 2:
SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01 broke the level 2 world record with a time of 01:58.38 minutes, a time that is certainly not his fastest time.

The fact that SMGCh. Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01 did not break the world record with his iconic time gave the chance to our current level 2 world record holder to beat his time with a difference of 1 millisecond.

I present you our current level 2 world record holder:
MGCh. RH ℳℐ Angelic Royalty

level 1:
The level 1 world record was broken on the 1st of May by non other than ƛϝ℩ Maeden! With an impressive time of 01:58.12 minutes!

Rising Stars:

ℳℐ Unique Rainstorm

ℳℐ Unique Rainstorm, an almost purebred Thoroughbred, this month has successfully given us the fastest time of every new racehorse! Even though his results are nowhere near as good as his record holder sire this stallion still manages to impress us with an above average time of 01:59.15 minutes!

꧁☬WHRTB☬꧂ Prince 60:31:44 - 01:58:86

This stunning Racehorse has managed in the course of a month to make a name for himself ! His time have also significantly passed his sire's and with a bit of hard work I definitely see him becoming a record holder's sire!

Featured Horse:

꧁☬WHRTB☬꧂ Prince 60:31:44 - 01:58:86

This Thoroughbred bred by PeacefulOreo and also one of our rising stars in this month's issue definitely deserves to be featured!
In less than a month he has managed to surpass his sire and earn the Supreme champion title! Plus with such good scores he is definitely a nice addition to PeacefulOreo's herd!

Races:

_________
The results of the American Cup in more detail:
The American Cup:

Asunción Derby, Argentina
Link - Here
Winner - ~DB4E~ Black Caviar

Details:
~DB4E~ Black Caviar managed to win the million dollar competition with a score of 02:01.89 minutes! Which surprisingly was the same score that Ch. Plenty to my Victory did in the same competition.

The stallion in less than a month has managed to win over 20 million dollars, even if his win percentage is nowhere near as good as his sire! In fact this foal has more than half the earnings of his record holder sire who has been entered in eight times the competitions that ~DB4E~ Black Caviar ever has, that is quite impressive! Of course, this stallion is now the 12th horse with the highest earnings in the racing discipline!

Churchill Stakes, USA
Link - here
Winner - ☼MSF☼ Delinquent (2nd actually)

Details:
This Thoroughbred won the second place of the competition with a result of 02:01.47 minutes, even though his fastest time (01:59.04 minutes) is far less than that.

However, the competition was actually won by D.M Boarding's stallion but he unfortunately was not officially entered in the competition.

Fort Erie Derby, Canada
Link - here
Winner - ℳℐ Angelic Royalty

Details:
This stallion managed to win this competition with a score of 02:00.81 minutes, the best score that we have seen in the American Cup!

Endurance:

Rising Stars:
~DB4E~ Diamond God

This Thoroughbred who was bred specifically for breaking an Endurance record based on his profile's description is one of the fastest competing horses this month! With results not far from breaking a world record he will surely make his way to the top fast and become a reknowned horse in the Endurance discipline.

€R♛ Masked Arrow

MCh.€R♛ Masked Arrow, a stunning looking Arabian, is not far behind. With results close to ~DB4E~ Diamond God's he for sure is making a name of himself as well. However, considering the fact that he is 9 years older than ~DB4E~ Diamond God and still has no offsprings I see him retiring a but quicker.

Featured Horse:
~DB4E~ Diamond God

~DB4E~ Diamond God, is definitely an amazing Thoroughbred. His results have not been reached by any of our more experienced Endurance horses this month which is impressive! I can't wait to see how he turns out once he becomes more experienced!

Races:

♛RoyalWinnerCoronation♛Gran Slam♛ took place this month! In this competition the horses definitely had a hard time competing against each other, considering the fact that the majority of the final scores where less than were less than 20 hours!

Royale Ranch's Supreme Champion Arabian, SCh. €R♛ Dancing Elf, managed to win the competition with a score of 19.71 hours.

Sprint Racing:

Rising Stars:

☼MSF☼ Courageous is a beautiful Thoroughbred with a great talent in Sprint Racing ! With results that are under 00:41 minutes, something that only a few competitive horses can reach, he will become a great addition to KYTrainer's herd! Once he has reached his breeding age he will surely pass down great talent on KYTrainer's stock.

Featured Horse:
¤ß¥Å¤ Perfect Attendance

MGCh.++ ¤ß¥Å¤ Perfect Attendance is a talented Tchenarani colt! Even though he does not appear to be doing very well in every discipline that he has been entered in, he definitely seems to have a lot kf talent in Sprint Racing! Well done Silverine!

Races:
Bolthaven Weekly Sprint Olympics was hosted this month by Ashara Storm. MCh. + .:. Cookie Essence de Volants.:. witham time of 00:41.78 minutes competed against 12 horses and managed to earn himself 1k and 103 points!

$HWEC$ Sprint Racing was won by a stunning Thoroughbred owned by BlackOak2! Take a look at this beauty:

Steeplechase:

Records:
Level 10:
♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕

SCh. ++ Rh♕ Empty your mind 01:58.48 ♕, one of the most famous horses here on HWO has managed to break another world record! With a time of 10:10.17 minutes he managed to break the level 10 world record!

∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35

MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35
This very talented stallion broke again the level 10 world record with a time of 10:03.25 minutes! Such a huge difference! There is it much to say about him apart from the, well known, fact that this Grade horse has a lot of potential.

Level 8:

The level 8 world record was broken 2 times this month by our best Steeplechaser!
MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35 broke the level 8 world record with a time of 10:08.26 minutes then later on 10:02.35 minutes! Way to go!

Level 7:

Of course MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35 managed to break the level 7 world record ! First with a time of 10:09.17 minutes!

The previous holder of the level 7 world record was MCh. + RH꧁☬WHRTB☬꧂ Hurricane 60:32:42 - 01:59.81! A stunning Thouroubred bred by PeacefulOreo!

Level 5:

Again our now famous record holder MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35 broke the level 5 world record with a time of 10:06.89 minutes

Level 3:
MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35 broke the level 3 world record with a time of 10:06.45 minutes!

Level 1:

MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35, broke the level 1 world record with a time of 10:12.82 minutes!

Rising Stars:

∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35

MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35 definitely deserves to have his name known! This amazing grade horse bred by non ither than Bitapetrone managed to achieve so many things in such a short period which is amazing and impressive!

Featured Horse:
∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35

Do I need to say more things about MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35? He is officially on if the best Steeplechasers here on HWO. With already 6 world records in his achievements he will surely add more! This amazing stallion has managed to rest almost every world record with a significant difference that will make many breeders work hard in order for their horses to manage to break a world record!

Races:

Our new world record holder, MCh. Rh∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle -- 58* 44* 34 33 -- 10:02.35 managed to win the $HWEC$ Steeplechasing competition hasted by Rhorsegirl80 with a starting pure if 1 million!

Records:

I think that this is the first time, in a lot of months, that there were only 2 world records broken. I guess SMGCh.++ Rh ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle -- 63* 46* 23 63* -- 1:58.01 score of 01:58.01 minutes will be pretty hard to beat.

Level 8:
♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18

SMGCh.++ Rh ♘ Apocalypse ♘ - 01:58.18, a now famous racehorse, has added yet another record in his collection.

With his iconic score of 01:58.18 minutes on June 23rd, he broke the level 8 world record which, by the looks of it will, unfortunately, be the last record he'll break unless he gives us faster times.

SMGCh. Rh ℳℐ Orifiel - 62°33°44

SMGCh. Rh ℳℐ Orifiel - 62°33°44 broke his first record on June 3rd 2020. One day later he broke the record again with his fastest score of 01:58.23 minutes!

SMGCh. Rh ℳℐ Orifiel - 62°33°44

SMGCh. Rh ℳℐ Orifiel - 62°33°44 our newest addition on the world record rankings definitely deserves to be featured! It was about time to see some new competition on with our record holders.

If it weren't for the Supreme Master Grand Champion title he has acquired on the course of this month this stallion would have definitely been featured on the rising stars section.

Races:

As promised from our previous issue we will showcase the results from the second competition serious of Miracle Sunrise Farms Racing World Tour..

The competition series of this month were under the category of The European Cup.

The European Cup has 3 races: in England, in France, and in Italy.

☼MSF☼ Courageous, a young colt bred by KYTrainer, has shown us this month a lot of potential! Even though his Agility stats and confo are nowhere near perfect he certainly seems to have a talent in Sprint Racing.

This Thoroughbred is actually the fastest novice horse we had this month. Congratulations KYTrainer, that is one talented Thoroughbred.

SCh. + 930 RSÆ Dune's Devil Orchestra

SCh. + 930 RSÆ Dune's Devil Orchestra despite his old age he seams to have great potential. This grade horse has an amazing win percentage and earnings close to 9 million.

Look at that wonderful blanket!

Good job BlackOak2.

He is both talented and pretty. I'd say he has the whole package ;)

Featured horse:

MCh. NSA Ritardando

MCh. NSA Ritardando is another beautiful Thoroughbred bred by Jockey. This stallion is surely talented and has already proven himself in competitions. This colt could have become a record if his PPS level had not gone up.

Interviews:

On this part of the issue, you will see the interviews of 5 players as I mentioned before. I will separate this newsletter in 5 sections: The RH breeder, The Racing's top owner, The Sprint Racing's Top owner, The Endurance's and Harness Racing's top owner, The Steeplechasing's top owner.

The interview's questions:
Question 1:
You have been breeding racehorses for years now and I am sure that you have acquired some extra knowledge for breeding racehorses. A lot of players tend to have a certain level of importance when they are looking at a racehorse's stats.

Would you mind reorganizing the list below (which is random) with the 1st being the most important thing a racehorse must have, according to you, and the last being the least important? And if you can, could you possibly tell us the reason behind your choices?

List:
1. Conformation
2. Breeder's Report
3. HGP
4. Temperament
Question 2:
The community seems to be focusing a lot on conformation, BR, HGP, and temperament. Do you think that there are other important characteristics that a horse should have?
Like a specific height, built, gender, etc.
Question 3:
We have plenty of players here who believe that stallions compete better than mares, what is your opinion on that matter?
Question 4:
Picking the right breeding pair (that will produce an excellent racehorse) is difficult, do you have a certain way of doing that? Or do you believe that every racing mare and stallion have the potential (whether it is hidden or not) to produce a good racehorse?
Question 5:
A difficult part of breeding racehorses is evaluating the newborns and a popular method of doing that is "foal testing". Do you think that this method is reliable? Do you personally use this method? If you do use this method how many turns do you use it for?
Question 6:
Who plays the most important role when breeding a racehorse? the mare, the stallion, or both?
Question 7:
The heart gene is a theory that many players here have established as true even though there is no 100% valid proof that it exists in this game. What are your thoughts on the heart gene? If you do believe that it is true would you mind telling me how important you think it is for a racehorse?
Question 8:
Many players are disappointed when they seem to only be producing bad racehorses. How many of your breedings are successful? Do you get bad racehorses as well?
Question 9:
Many players have had cases where they have an excellent looking racehorse foal that unfortunately did not have a good speed confo or had a bombproof temperament but other than that they seemed to be a very talented horse. Do you think that a foal should still be trained and competed even if he lacks a lot in certain areas?
Question 10:
We have all seen a few racehorses that go with the saying of "Don't Judge a book by its cover". An excellent example of that would be our current Record Holder in Sprint Racing who has actually broken almost every level in Sprint Racing but as we can see has a 26 Agility confo and his Agility comment is not even green. What are your thoughts on this horse? Have you had similar horses?
The RH breeder:

Bitapetrone

1st Question:
This list is a bit difficult to organize only because all of these things matter to an extent and they all also interact with each other. This is all my opinion of course, but the order I look at things is as follows:

I'm going to assume that by temperament you mean the horse's "try" or "heart". Whether it is an invisible stat or a compilation of the ones we can see (BR scaling + confo, but we can't see actual BR stat values) and just not totally analyze, it's a pain to track and the most difficult thing to keep tabs on (requires competition scoring to see how it plays against the other factors) and it also, for me anyway, is the hardest to breed in. We still see improvement in the raw conformation of horses, but eventually, we're going to hit a point where those numbers don't change much and temperament (or the culmination of all the things we can't totally see) is going to be what decides the superior competitor. This ties directly into BR below.

BR goes into the 2nd position because I am pretty convinced there's a direct tie to it and the "temperament" stat. There's actually a really large fluctuation to BR that we just cannot see because no numbers are visible to us, but one thing I really look for when breeding up horses is the relation of BR and conformation. If I breed a horse with a 50 in speed confo and it's only got green on the BR I rehome it because it has poor natural talent. If I breed a horse with a 42 in speed and it's got a gold comment it's a keeper for breeding. I can always improve the conformation, but it's brutal to try and see how BR relates to conformation if the conformation is already super high, because if you have a 60 in speed you should have a gold comment. The horse may not have much natural talent but that 60 in speed is carrying the weaker BR. I feel bad for anyone trying to go through all my clones, but if one were to go back several gens they'd run straight into a bunch of horses with only 40s in speed getting really solid untrained scores that are comparable to some horses with superior conformation.

Conformation is in 3rd position because while it is important, we can straight up to see it. It's not that hard to breed in because all we have to do is look at a horse and right away we know if the conformation is good or not. I usually build this up last once I find horses that perform above their conformation grade.

I would place HGP in the 4th position only because HGP considers all stats and we only care about three for racing so it isn't really meaningful in the grand scheme of things. You could argue that HGP can be used as a bit of a guideline in the later stages of a program because all of your horses are more likely to be orientated for racing already, so the HGP fluctuation has a higher chance of being on the stats you care about (this is, of course, assuming you are only breeding for the three stats used in racing). It's not really reliable for breeding for a specific discipline.

2nd Question:

Build and gender matter (99% sure on gender matters, but since I have no direct proof I can't say for certain). Outside of height requirements, I haven't noticed height having a significant impact. My current RH holder for racing is 14.3, which is pretty tiny for a racer. Age isn't mentioned but I also haven't noticed age having any sort of impact on scores either, or if it does, it seems to be really insignificant. I'd be curious if others have tested and experienced otherwise. I mention this because I began racing my current RH when he was over 13 and he still pulled 1:58.01.

3rd Question:

Stallions seem to have an advantage score-wise. I don't know the math behind it but I am 99% sure they have an advantage over mares. When I'm testing horses I analyze the mares apart from the stallions to account for this.

4th Question:

When I first was starting my method was very chaotic. I called it the TSAAW method jokingly (Throw.. uh, "stuff" At A Wall).
Once I found horses that worked for me, I kept breeding the ones that scored well to each other. Eventually, I saw improvement, and when I needed to I would tweak conformation while trying to maintain "temperament". From there it's just rinsing and repeating til improvements occur. Sometimes I get stuck and bring in some older lines or lines from another discipline on my side account, like recently where I pulled some endurance lines into my racers to bump stamina up a smidge. But basically, it's really as simple as breeding horses that score well to other horses that score well. More detail goes into it, but that has worked for me and continues to work for me. As long as I keep up on BR/score fluctuation in comparison to conformation and don't let any bad traits get out of hand it works well.

I'm probably explaining this badly, but it's a lot of little details that turn into one simple thing in the end. Unless I am going specifically for conformation during the beginning of a project, I only breed horses that I have score tested. I would give up seeing every other stat if I could still see score before breeding. It would be harder, but still very doable. Breeding for competition without seeing a sire/dam score is the ultimate shot in the dark. This testing 100% includes mares too. Great stallion + great mare = better chance at great foal.

5th Question:

I assume this is testing the foal right after it is born? I score test but I do it in a controlled environment. All horses I don't plan on training are tested at the same weight/temperament. These things both greatly impact scoring, so if I want a true score to compare against other horses it has to be controlled and done on an even playing field. Stallions I train before testing because if they end up being an RH I want to compete them. If the testing is done without a controlled setting (all the same weight/temp) I can't see it always being reliable. I generally give a horse about 10-20 turns to show me a score I like.

6th Question:

Both. Definitely both

7th Question:

I assume this is related to temperament, heart, and try? Whether it exists as a separate stat or is a culmination of all of them and we just can't see the number, I think it's very important. I've seen horses who look kinda subpar thrash horses who, on paper, look vastly superior. So there's something going on there. I might have misunderstood temperament in the first question, but I essentially discuss this and its importance in my response.

8th Question:

The rehome button is my best friend. Out of every foal crop in the later stages of a program (racing included), I keep maybe 20%. Out of that 20% the majority end up being rehomed later because they failed their score testing. I breed a lot of really bad racehorses and can go several seasons without keeping a single foal.

9th Question:

I sort of cover this in another question, but I've kept some horses that fit this scenario. If they shine brightly in other areas it certainly can't hurt to breed them and see what they produce. I don't personally train and compete with them though.

10th Question:

Oh yeah, I've had a few horses that surprised me like this. It's one of the reasons I started paying way more attention to body type and temperament. It has an absolutely massive impact on competition and I don't think a lot of people realize that.

The Racing's Top owner:

PeacefulOreo

1st Question:

I'd say Breeder's Report, Conformation, Temperament, and then HGP. Usually, most racehorses with a good breeders report can do well. Conformation would be directly behind because I haven't really seen any racehorses with bad conformation perform well in races. Temperament is then next because if you have a bombproof temperament, it doesn't do as well as a high strung or spirited tempered horse would. HGP is the last on the list as it doesn't affect how well the horse does in races.

2nd Question:

Definitely. They should also focus on gender, build, heart / win %, times, and the parents' time, conformation, breeders report, temperament, build, and heart / win %. Generally, stallions do better than mares and I've found horses that aren't very light horse type or light horse type typically don't run as well as ones that are very light horse type or light horse type. The will to win, the heart/win %, is important too because you can have a horse doing really good times and yet have a win % under 70%. You definitely want to focus on the times of course. Then with the parents, you can't breed a really good racehorse if your horse(s) doesn't(don't) have good parents.

3rd Question:

As I had said in the 2nd question, I would say that stallions definitely can compete better than mares. I've not seen, if there are any at all, very many mares make times under 2 minutes whereas I've seen quite a few stallions make times under 2 minutes or extremely close to 2 minutes.

4th Question:

I usually look at both the mare's and stallion's Breeder's Report, Conformation, Temperament, build, heart / win %, and times and weigh the good and the bad. If a mare lacks in one thing, I usually breed the mare to a stallion that would be better in the one thing. Like a bombproof mare I breed to a high strung mare and then they can produce, but not always, calm or even-tempered foals. Some can have a hidden potential but I typically look at the Breeder's Report, Conformation, Temperament, build, heart / win %, and times and weigh the good and the bad and look at their pedigree to see if they had any horses with good times

5th Question:

I think for the most part the foal testing is reliable. I've only had one horse with foal times of 2:17 and not go under 2 minutes after being fully trained but had a great heart/win %. I definitely use it to help me evaluate the newborns. I typically test them while they're still newborns.

6th Question:

Both, you can't breed a good racehorse without having both a good dam and a good sire.

7th Question:

The heart gene is a theory that many players here have established as true even though there is no 100% valid proof that it exists in this game. What are your thoughts on the heart gene? If you do believe that it is true would you mind telling me how important you think it is for a racehorse?

I definitely think that the heart gene exists. It's extremely similar if not the same thing as the horse's win %. The horse's win % is also important because like I've said before, you can have a horse run good times and have a win % under 70%.

8th Question:

I definitely say that everyone, even the top racehorse breeders, gets bad racehorses every now and then. At the moment, I've gotten a few with potential and several that haven't done as well.

9th Question:

I usually look at the parents and then look at the foal and weigh the good and bad and decide from there. I typically don't have bombproof foals trained. Depending on the areas the foal lacks, yes. Any foals with born with bombproof temperaments, 55 or lower speed confirmation, 23 or lower strength confirmation, 40 or lower stamina conformation, medium-light horse type or heavier build, no green/gold stamina comment (for mainly the discipline racing), and/or an okay speed comment I typically don't train.

10th Question:

He does seem to lack in agility but his strength comment, strength conformation, and speed comment do help make up for it. I do not think I've seen any others like him that have broken a record and lack in something.

The Sprint Racing's Top Owner:

Baranduin Brewster

1st Question:

1. Temperament – Quite simply if a racehorse doesn’t have a spirited or high strung temperament, it isn’t worth my while to train it for sprint racing. If I keep a horse that is not of ideal temperament; I might train it, to test it in western events in the cases of my ApQHs (since the stats needed are very similar in most cases)

2. Conformation

Ah, conformation...in all actuality this gets almost as much weight as temperament in my book. However, I don’t particularly look at the Conformation Effects tab very hard, usually, just a glance at the stat increase is enough for me.

If I keep a horse that is not of ideal temperament or conformation for Sprint; I might train it, to test it in western speed events (Barrels, Poles, Cutting, Reining) events in the cases of my ApQHs (since the stats needed are very similar in most cases). In the case of my Tbs, they might be kept for Steeple or creating new lines of ApQHs.

3. Breeders Report

I don’t give a lot of weight to the actual words breeder’s report (though I have occasionally read them for the laugh), mostly I just go off the stat box colors.

4. HGP

Honestly, I don’t really care about HGP, not even sure why I even keep track of it.

2nd Question:

I focus on the horses build and height, I mean come on a draft will never outrun a lighter build horse and a small pony cannot even compete (though I would love to create a racing TB or ApQH Mighty Mite).

3rd Question:

Here is the loaded question, all genders are not created equal in my book. I have had some decent mares, but it is the stallions that get all the glory in events it seems

4th Question:

Every stallion and mare has the potential to toss a decent horse. An excellent one, however, takes a bit of skill and luck.

5th Question:

Absolutely it isn’t reliable, and I don’t use it personally. If the horse meets most of my standards, I will train the horse up and test event it in sprint racing. If the horse ‘flops,’ I don’t consider it a failure.

6th Question:

Both

7th Question:

Honestly, I believe that we just don’t know enough about the intricacies of the game to understand the complexities of what goes into the eventing and eventing system. I do know there is a certain randomness in both. Whether you want to call it heart or just being well-bred, it ends up equalling the same thing.

8th Question:

About 80+% of foals born on my ranch (regardless of breed/discipline) are rehomed right after being born. Around 10% of the saved foals are reserved for other purposed, like color or breed creation. The other 10% are trained and tested. I have had a few surprises like MFI Uncle Mo-Seek Rich ♂, who despite their breeding, decided to state beyond a doubt, I hate sprint racing. Thankfully, My ApQHs are versatile enough to have a go at other disciplines.

9th Question:

In the case of bombproof temperament, I might train and compete an ApQH, though not in a sprint, but in pleasure, trail, or working ranch. The only reason being that I’m working my way to have ApQH in racing, English, and all western events at some point. As far as speed confo, I prefer my speed confo to be 50 or below.

10th Question:

I’m actually not surprised by Rockin Tart’s success, he is a tad bit heavier (and longer in the body) than I usually shoot for (but not by much) in my ApQHs. In his case, you just need to look at his Confo score in Speed (47) and strength (48), majority of racehorses have a strength in the 30s, and since strength is weighed more heavily than agility (judged stats are Speed, Strength, Agility, and Speed), his strength stat pretty much cancels out the low agility comment.

The Steeplechasing's Top owner:

Malakai10

1st Question:

List:
1. Conformation
2. Breeder's Report
3. HGP
4. Temperament

Temperament
Breeder's report
Conformation
HGP

I've found that having a horse with an unsuitable temperament can turn what looks like it would be a star into a mess. The majority of my mares at four years of age without training will have a sprint racing time of about 45,2-46,6; a bombproof mare will be fast if she gets a time under 48!

Breeder's report is a somewhat accurate summary of the horse's temperament, build, conformation, and other factors. It's not 100% accurate but a horse with a red comment will never be able to compete properly. I have found that some horses can have uncolored, but good, comments in either speed or agility (but not both!) and can still do well in sprint-racing but wither speed or agility must be, at the very least, green. I'm not too sure how a green or gold strength comment ties into this as I have yet to breed one.

Conformation will affect your horses' performance but not half as much as you would think. I have had horses with strength conformations under 30 have a sprint racing time under 00:46 (this translates to, roughly, about 00:44,5 (or less) in trained mares and 00:43 (or less) in trained stallions.) These, however, seem to be the exception and not the rule.

The genetic potential seems to have little effect on the horse's performance - you might start seeing a difference if you compete for horses with a 5-10k difference. I wouldn't completely dismiss this, however. I do put stock into it - this is one of the first things I look for in a foal but I simply haven't noticed large differences due to HGP.

2nd Question:

I think people should focus more on competition results than what they think might be the correct appearance of the horse. I've found that I tend to be completely surprised at what horses actually do well in sprint racing versus the ones that look like they would do well.

Take, for example, this stallion:
950 RSÆ Drizzle's Steed Situation

He's pretty, medium-light, horse-type. 48 speed, 34 strength, 42 agility. I thought he would be absolutely amazing and he wasn't bad. Untrained, he got a high speed of 00:44,93. Now, with most stallions, I've found that an untrained speed under 00:45 led to them having a trained speed under 00:41. Not this horse - his top speed, trained, was 00:41,07.

Now, looking at this stallion:
930 RSÆ Dune's Devil Orchestra

He's pony-type, medium. 48 speed, 35 strength, 40 agility. For the past 81-or-so in-game-years, he has been my fastest stallion. Untrained speed of 00:44,79, trained speed 00:40,53.

3rd Question:

This is true. I've noticed that stallions, untrained, tend to have a faster sprint racing time of about half a second. Trained, a stallion will have a time faster by about a second or more compared to a mare that had the exact same speed when neither were trained.

This also makes sense, biologically. Human females have roughly 90% of the red blood cells to carry oxygen that human males have. This results in the score for a female in, say, 100-meter sprints, being 10% lower than the male's top score. Now, this is, of course, humans but I would imagine that this difference would be in mares and stallions too. I have asked Larissar if the difference in mares and stallions is due to this (and perhaps I ought to do some calculations myself!) and I haven't gotten a reply yet. I wouldn't be surprised if the game worked like this, however - Larissar and Tom do like to make this game as realistic as possible!

4th Question:

I don't actually pick each mare and stallion pairing - I generally have four to as many as twelve stallions covering thirty-six of my mares every year. The mares I choose based on sprint-racing scores, colour, breed, and age. Of the stallions, I have one barn where I keep my favored stallions which are usually my fastest. Every colt that passes the minimum speed test, however, is given a chance to breed and covers a minimum of three mares. Someone with more patience than I would likely benefit from meticulously picking the best pairing but I don't have that much patience nor time.

Allowing colts that pass the minimum speed test to have foals allows for more genetic diversity than simply picking the ones that are the fastest. It also allows me to have more color variation, which I like.

5th Question:

If I am interpreting this correctly, foal-testing is entering foals into local competitions and evaluating them on those scores, yes? I do think this method is reliable however, I must point out that, when I used to test my horses as foals, they were roughly one to two seconds slower than when they were tested as adults. No difference in BCS, no difference in temperament or training.

I don't do foal testing but I do something similar:

At birth, each foal is checked. A grade horse filly must have a minimum HGP of 64k, an Akhal Teke, Boerperd, or mix of those two must have a minimum score of 62k. All colts must have, at minimum, 66k. A bombproof might be kept if there is something special about her, a bombproof colt is deleted. No horse may have a negative comment and colts must have at least five green or gold comments.

The remaining foals are then kept in a paddock with a 65% yellow corn feed until maturity. Upon maturity, the horses are moved into barns and their feed changed to 35% yellow corn until they become thin. At that point, I give them 65% weight gain mix and will test all of the horses that are thin on that turn (I don't wait for all the horses to reach the appropriate weight - I test them as they reach it.)

Any mare that gets below 00:46 is accepted as a potential breeding mare, any stallion that reaches below 00:45,5 is accepted as a potential breeding stallion. I allow horses that don't achieve the appropriate score as many as six to twelve competitions before deleting them. This, in total, likely takes about twelve turns, at most.

After all, horses are tested or deleted, I evaluate them further - all Akhal Teke and Boerperd mixes are automatically accepted into the breeding program. All horses that receive a score lower than 00:45 are accepted into training. Grade horse stallions are only accepted if there are no suitable Akhal Teke or Boerperd mix stallions - or if the grade stallion is particularly good or unique in appearance. A maximum of three or so grade horse mares is accepted into the breeding program.

6th Question:

Short answer: mare.

Long answer: I haven't noticed any difference however, based on a post Larissar made a while ago, I will say the mare. The post Larissar made linked to a web-page detailing how these racehorse owners choose horses through the maternal line. This also makes sense due to factors in real life.

See, there are two types of DNA - mitochondrial and nucleus. Mitochondrial DNA is exclusively passed from mother to offspring with very little variation - the male's mitochondrial DNA is never passed on. As we all know, the mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell - the mare will pass on the DNA that determines how efficient the mitochondria is in 'energy creation'.

7th Question:

I honestly thought that it was a 100% confirmed fact! I think it must be the most important thing - I've had horses that, based on build and conformation, would excel in sprint racing, and yet they were absolute disasters!

8th Question:

Oh, I definitely do.

This is a standard deviation graph that I copied from the internet. Pretend that the red graph is low COI and the blue is high COI.

Image

Also look at this graph, which is a typical standard deviation graph.

Image

The majority of foals will be near the 0σ (σ stands for standard deviation). I only allow fillies that are in the upper 50% (the ones that are above the 0σ) to be kept until maturity to be tested. When I breed to improve, I only keep colts that are 1σ or more away from the average. At the moment, I am attempting to get my horses to be listed as Akhal-Teke x Boerperd, so I do keep colts that are in the top 50%.

The short answer as to why most of my horses are good is that I've been breeding for sprint racing for a very long time and time I cull a minimum of 50% of my goals as they are born.

9th Question:

I think that it's a waste of time to train a bombproof foal. I occasionally keep bombproof mares if they have a trait that I like or if they appear to otherwise be good racehorses but never more than one in a generation. I do, occasionally, keep bombproof stallions but only when I am trying to introduce a new trait - such as when I was introducing pearl into my herd but I never bothered to train them.

A horse with a bad speed conformation is worth testing - the foal might surprise you. If the speed confo is below 40, however, I wouldn't bother.

10th Question:

I think that horse is really amazing and I'm fairly certain that it was him that got me to stop looking at what I perceive to be the best conformation scores and to start looking at results. I have definitely had similar horses - not so much in having a low confo or surprising BR but in having an unexpected build; I actually linked one of them earlier on but here some of my fastest stallions (and one mare), in their surprising, pony-shaped glory:

The Endurance's and Harness Racing's Top owner:

Totina

1st Question:

I would say the order of importance is as follow:
1. Breeder's report
2. Temperament
3. Conformation
4. HGP

The exact order is a bit sketchy, to begin with. It's varying a lot between horses how well they perform and what type of racing they are competing in. My own focus has primarily been on the breeder's report and most of my endurance horses have not had the best conformation for stamina for example but still performed very well in endurance competitions. I've also entered horses in the other racing classes and I've noticed that temperament has had a great impact on the horse's performance.
Most of my horses are bred bombproof and it works for endurance competitions but not so well in other racing classes. Whenever I breed a horse that is not born bombproof they have a better potential at competing in racing, sprint racing, and steeplechasing if the breeder's report supports it as well.
HGP doesn't really matter if the horse has good stats in the skills required for each discipline. Movement or intelligence, for example, has no impact on a horse's racing potential so they might as well be marked with red in the breeder's report and result in a lower HGP overall.

2nd Question:

It was confirmed some time ago that there are hidden genes that affect a horse's performance in competitions. Finding these genes, however, is a bit of a struggle since you can't see it unless you compete with your horses. Stallions also perform better than mares in general and the weight of the horse has some impact as well. A racing horse should not be above normal body weight but moderately thin is to prefer for most racing classes.

3rd Question:

This is true. It was also confirmed that it is part of the programming of this game that stallions do perform a bit better than mares in all disciplines. From my own experience stallions are overrepresented among the top-performing horses of all competitions and not just slightly better than mares but quite a lot. Whether it is intentional or not it's how the game is programmed to favor stallions over mares when it comes to performance in competitions.

4th Question:

Not all horses can produce the perfect racehorse. As I mentioned before there are hidden genes that impact a horse's potential to perform better than horses without. If a horse I compete with is performing well then I use it more in my breeding compared to a horse that doesn't perform as good.

5th Question:

I personally don't use this method on my foals but it surely can give you an idea if you have a bit of data to compare the results with. Until we have discipline evaluation books in the game this method of foal testing might become quite a time consuming if you breed a lot of horses, which is why I prefer to use Breeder's report, HGP and conformation (in that order) to decide whether I should keep a foal or not.

6tt Question:

Both are equally important but unless you are competing with both it is a bit of a shot in the dark whether the foal will even have the potential to become a success or not. If two successful horses are bred to each other then the chances are of course better than the foal will inherit at least some of the traits.

7th Question:

I don't know if there is a specific "heart gene" implemented in the game. But as there are confirmed genes that improve a horse's chances of winning overall it might just be that this so-called heart gene is the same as the genes that go for all disciplines.
In my experience, a horse that performs very well in one discipline (like being the record holder) usually performs above average or almost equally well in other disciplines too.

8th Question:

Most of the horses I breed are rehomed immediately because they don't meet the requirements. This means that I might end up with only 1 foal out of a mare's entire lifetime if I'm unlucky or just didn't pick the right stallion to breed with.

9th Question:

This is entirely up to the owner to decide. The foal might be good in other disciplines and could possibly bring in some money from competitions if it's talented enough with good genes/conformation for other disciplines than racing. It is a bit of a gamble when deciding to train a horse no matter what. You don't really know how well the horse will perform until you actually compete against other horses and it's up to you if you want to spend time training a horse that just might be good at something but you're not entirely sure.

10th Question:

Since agility is the 3rd important skill right after speed and strength (for sprint racing) then the first two are just so good on that horse that they compensate for the lack of agility. My guess is that compared to other horses he competes against the BR comments and conformation of speed and strength alone are enough to make him a winner despite the lack of agility.

Breyerfest 2020: Celtic Fling

This year due to Covid-19 pandemic Breyerfest was held online, so we were able to watch videos and live chats with some of the owners about their horses. We were able to watch an interview with the owners of Australian race horse Winx.

Winx retired in April of 2019, with 33 consecutive wins, including the world record of 25 Grade 1 wins. In 2016, Winx became the world's top-ranked filly/mare and the world's top-ranked turf horse. She was one of the 2018 world's best racehorses according to the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings (LWBRR), sharing the title with Cracksman from Great Britain. Over her racing career, she earned more than AU$26 (US$18.5) million.

Image

Fun Fact: Winx does not have a particularly long stride, her stride measured at 6.76 metres (22.2 ft) compared to nearly 7.5 metres (24 ft) for many of her rivals. Her success has been attributed to her cadence that allows her to take 14 strides every 5 seconds, compared to 12 for her rivals.

Rising Star
This issues rising star is This gold champagne with stockings and snowflakes Thoroughbred stallion holds several records in racing, he maintains an 85% win ratio in over 1,100 events. While, that is certainly impressive enough, he is showing well so far in two other racing disciplines, both Harness Racing and Steeplechasing. In the stud barn he has sired a couple of competitive foals, his best in my opinion is ♘ Astro ♘ He also has evented in Sprint Racing and Pole Bending. I'm interested in seeing just how far his breeder and owner Dark Moon will take him and his ospring.
Image
The Lead Pony
While they are called ponies, lead ponies are in fact horses of good size and stout build, with an excellent temperaments. Common breeds are draft horses, Quarter Horses and Appaloosas. They often wear bite pads over their shoulders to protect them from the bites of aggressive races horses. Perhaps the unsung heroes on the race track lead ponies, often looked at as insurance to gain more victories by keeping rambunctious youngsters calm and focused. They also work with Thoroughbreds during training. Most often seen on American tracks, several have gained as much fame as their racing brethren.

Wyatt who often ponies bridleless and has his own Twitter page
Butterscotch was the pony horse to Smarty Jones
Lava Man lead pony to I'll Have Another
Harely who has ponied at 30 Kentucky Derby, including California Chrome in 2014
Billy Silver who ponied Secretariat

Horse World Online Monthly Racing Newsletter- 12th Issue

Post by KYTrainer »

Issue #12- September-November, 2020

Announcements:
Welcome to the September through November issue of Horse World Online's Monthly Racing Newsletter.

Unfortunately, this newsletters manager and writer both have gone inactive. However it is now that I will be your new writer for the next three months it seems! I hope fall is settling in nicely wherever you call home!

As always, please feel free to leave me any suggestions, questions, or comments on the communications forum located here.

General News:

Interview:
For this release I got to interview Jewels65, who owns the fastest horse in game and most of the racing world records.

KYTrainer: So you're obviously one of the most dominant racehorse breeders right now, owning most of the records in Racing. How, in your opinion, were you able to pull this off?

Jewels65: Well, I've been working on it since I started playing which was quite some time ago. Not sure exactly but more than a year. But for a long time I was under the impression that the most important indicator of speed would be the horse's breeding report and conformation. Once I realized that just wasn't the case, I started testing all my foals for speed instead. After that, keeping only the fastest horses for breeding and looking for studs with good racing records instead of pretty breeding reports, my horses just started getting faster

KYTrainer: Wow, quite a long time! I know a lot of players do think that those are the key points. Myself for a while included. So you are referring to the 'heart gene"?

Jewels65: Yes. Also I was running my horses at the wrong temperament. After I started testing my horses, I realized they do better at the last tick of spirited, then I read on the forums that someone else also had realized this, and that confirmed my theory. So I took my best horse at the time, and dropped him to spirited and he broke the world record in a local show

KYTrainer: Whoa, that is quite impressive. On to our next topic, are you a believer in "foal testing", or do you train most foals and then test them?

Jewels65: I really feel like I need to thank the owner of Fair Play. His stallion ♕ Fair Play 01:59.26 ♕ , which I could only afford to breed one mare to, gave me Fair Justice . And that horse was really the start of my success. That one colt really started it all for me. It was my best mare obviously! lol. I test my foals, I don't train unless they are worth training. I don't really see the need to train them that young. Yes, you might not be able to enter a few competitions, but the vast majority of shows have an age limit of 20.

KYTrainer: Oh, that stallion is very pretty! So Fair Justice was your first successful racer? Also, do you believe that the stud or the mare matters the most from a breeding standpoint. I know that a lot of people think that if your horse is sire by a good stud the foal will be good. Do you think this is true?

Jewels65: I don't. The one thing I did that really helped, was to sell or rehome any filly that couldn't beat her dam's time. And he wasn't my first.. just my fastest. The mare was by another one of my champions. I'd already whittled the times down by quite a lot. My mares started out running locals (untrained) at 2.16 and now they all run under 2.13.5. But again, you never really know how good of a producer they will be. Marmalade's dam wasn't the fastest in my barn.. but when I tested him as a foal, he ran at 2.12.38. I've never seen anything that fast before. I was jumping for joy. lol.

KYTrainer: Oh, the filly/dame technique sounds like a very good one. And thank you for correcting me, he was you fastest one, lol. Oh wow, Marmalade was that fast as a foal? He could have beat several lower-end tbs untrained! So, what do you have planned next for Marmalade's pedigree, prodigy, and career?

Jewels65: That's a tough question. I feel like I can't keep in-breeding my horses, so I'm working on adding new lines. So for now, he's just entering competitions each day. I have bred him to my mares a few times, but I don't like to see my COI so high. When I first started playing I wouldn't let my horses COI get above 60. I also wonder if there is a speed cap in the game. Is there a number no horse can cross hard-coded into the game, or can you keep breeding faster and faster horses?

KYTrainer: That is a good question. I bet if anyone can find out if there is a cap, it is you. Thank you for your time today Jewels!

Jewels65: Might not be me! I've sold quite a few of my colts and fillies to other players in the hope of opening up new lines on the market for everyone, and you're quite welcome.

Records:
Records have been SMASHED in the past three months. I will give you the full rundown, starting from August 2nd. I will be starting with level 1 records and progress my way up.

Level 4 Harness Racing:
this record was taken by Bitapetrones
∰ King of the Storm

with a phenomenal time of 02:32.05 minutes!

Level 5 Harness Racing:
Bitapetrones stallion again,
∰ King of the Storm

grabbed this record with a wonderful 02:32.50 minutes.

Level 6 Harness Racing:
Guess who's back? If you guessed
∰ King of the Storm

you were right! this stallion broke this record with a stunning 02:32.28 minutes!

Level 7 Harness Racing:
Drum-roll please! This record is owned by
∰ King of the Storm

who snagged this one with a 02:32.50 minutes, then again with an even more impressive 02:31.59 minutes! Getting pretty speedy, Bitapetrone!

Level 8 Harness Racing:
Ok, you already know who it is.
∰ King of the Storm

took this record away from FameDaLupa with an impressive 02:31.81 minutes! Better watch out!

Level 10 Harness Racing:
Rounding out our Harness Racing records is a new horse,
∰ King of the Storm

Sike! You thought someone could beat these incredible times? This record is currently 02:31.47 minutes, making this stallion truly the king, and the fastest Harness racer in HWO.

Level 1 Racing:
Invincible Snowflake

On September 14, this SMGCh. broke the level one record with a time of 01:57.84 minutes, making him one of the only horses in-game to have gone under 1:58.0 minutes. And if you thought that was amazing, Jewels65 swept it again with our next stallion,
Fabulous Marmalade

Who took the level one record with a time of 1:57.81 minutes, then breaking his own record with an jaw-dropping 1:57.73! I congratulate Jewels65 for her breeding of these two fantastic horses.

Level 2 Racing:
Our horse that first broke this record is
Invincible Snowflake

who broke the record with a 01:57.94 minutes. Then, in comes
Winter Snowflake

who took the record with an astounding 01:57.87 minutes. Good job Jewels65 for these very successful tbs.

Level 4 Racing:
Level 4 Racing was swept away by the fastest horse in-game:
Fabulous Marmalade

who grabbed this record with a 01:57.73, which was a full 1/2 a second faster than Vet's Fabulous ℳℐ Orifiel min Merith

Level 6 Racing:
Level 6 is currently owned by
Invincible Snowflake

who snagged this record from the incredible ∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle, and with an impressive 01:58.12 minutes.

Level 7 Racing:
Was matched by
Fabulous Marmalade

with a time of 01:58.04 minutes, then smashed again with a stupefying 01:57.68 minutes!

Level 8 Racing:
This record was broke on Sept. 8 by
∰ Iudex Gundyr de Whyle

with a time of 01:58.04 minutes, then, ten days later, the stallion broke his own record with an amazing 01:57.95 minutes! But, just a little over 2 weeks later, in comes
Fabulous Marmalade

who took this record from Bitapetrone with an astounding 01:57.75 minutes!

Level 9 Racing:
This record was broke on Oct. 11th by the one and only
Fabulous Marmalade

with an absolutely STUNNING time of only 01:57.66 minutes!

Level 10 Racing:
Time for the big guns! Are y'all ready for this? Well, on Sept 14th,
Invincible Snowflake

took this record with a beautiful 01:57.84 minutes! However, this only lasted a little over a week, and then
Winter Snowflake

snagged the record from him with a unbelievable 01:57.78 minutes! But then, here comes
Fabulous Marmalade

who grabbed the record with a 01:57.73 minutes. When he thought that wasn't good enough, he broke it again with a 01:57.68 minutes. However, this still wasn't the end, as he went still faster to a staggering 01:57.56 minutes, putting him to the top as the fastest horse on HWO. Congratulations Jewels65, you own 8/10 racing records!

Endurance:
Rising Stars:
Mr. Joe

Mr. Joe here is pulling some great times, including one of his best I have found to be 17.65, which is faster than most RH's. However, his condition penalties are keeping him just outside of the RH times. I see a very bright future for this boy! Congrats Mrs Trouble Maker!

Races:
*** The Royale Endurance Event *** (1/Week) was swept away with a great time of 18.66 hours, won by our rising star, Mr. Joe.

Featured Horse:
∰ Jager de Whyle

Bitapetrones ∰ Jager de Whyle is the second fastest Endurance racer in-game, and is only bested by the sadly late mare Rosetta. So, he is the fastest alive endurance racer there is. his fastest time is 18.87 hours.

Harness Racing:
Rising Stars:
NSA Ginger Macchiato

is a Thoroughbred owned and bred by Jockey's Holding. His fastest time is a 2:33.47, making him a close contender with the world records! His pedigree includes that of NSA Burnished and of the RH's sire, NSA Caramel Macchiato.

Races:
♕ℛℛ♕ Daily Harness Racing was won by Walking Pixie 1:59.76, owned by _Americanaa_, with a splendid time of 02:34.71 minutes. ♕ℛℛ♕ Daily Harness Racing is a daily Harness Racing competition put on by Katy_Kanes.

Featured Horse:
∰ King of the Storm

King here, bred by no other than Bitapetrone, is the current holder of the level 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 records in Harness racing. His times are, honestly, close to unbeatable. I look forwards to this guys future as a competing horse and a stud for Bitapetrone!

Racing:
Rising Stars:
Since breeding has opened with Fabulous Marmalade,We have had many new up and coming horses, many going below 2 minutes. I will be introducing you to the most astounding 3, and we will start with
{ℛℛε} Fabulous Magic ~ 1:58.95

Fabulous Magic is bred and owned by h0rsey. His best time is beautiful 01:58.95, making him one of the highest end racers. He has only 15 starts. and unfortunately has only an 80 win percent, but that is because he is going against these other rising stars, his brothers :D which brings us to the next horse,
☼MSF☼ Citrus ~ 01:58.59

Who, I do not think I am partial with. He has clocked the fastest time out of the trio, a good 01:58.59. He has a 95 win percent out of 34 starts, and is a great example of the next generation of tb's, like
~DB4E~ Invincible Spots - 01:59.56

Invincible is what I would call this boy! His best time is a gorgeous 01:59.59, which contrary to some people, will still beat your horse, even if you have the RH! Congrats to Collector's_Holding for this beauty!

Races:
Mark your calendars, boys and girls! HWO Breeder's Cup World Championships 2020, hosted by h a z e l 3, is a mega 2 day event, with a total of 8 races on November 6th and 7th. Friday the 6th is the juveniles day to shine, then on Saturday the 7th the big dogs, and big money, step forwards. The event has a total purse of $316,000,000, plus additional prize money. Bring your best, this is going to be something we won't forget!

Featured Horse:
Fabulous Marmalade

Honestly, who wouldn't feature this horse? His long list of achievements is unlike anything I have seen since ∰ Daedalus de Whyle's 2 year rein over the records. He owns Racing levels 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 10, and is the fastest horse in game with a shattering 01:57.56 minutes. He was recently available to the public for $100,000, then for $1,000 before he was made back into private breeding only. However, I hope lots of y'all got his genes, I know I was all over him

Sprint Racing:
Rising Stars:
(CTL) Respect

This Thoroughbred stallion, although a bit off on the body type needed in this competition, seems to be doing well for himself, with a win percent of 91.3 out of 23 starts. Good job breeder gingerbird29 and owner Mega for presenting this boy well!

Races:
Amberleigh Dash was won by the wonderful .:.♕ Linisthus de Volants ♕.:. with a time of 00:41.02 minutes. Congrats are in order to breeder FameDaLupa and owner spottedleaf10.

Featured Horse:
FF Rockin Tart

Rockin Tart has been one of the most prominent horses in Sprint Racing, and its not hard to see why. Ideal body type and meticulous breeding has given Frost Farms most of the records in Sprint Racing, and this boy is no exception!

Steeplechase:
Rising Stars:
:S: Kaonashi

This horse was barely off the lvl 1 racing record by 0.16 seconds, and he only has 7 starts! Stormchase Stables, I was told, has just came back from a long break, and of course, they are immediately back in the thick of it! Watch out, he'll be breaking records in no time!

Races:
Bolthaven Weekly Steeplechase Extravaganza was won by Walking Pixie 1:59.76 with a delightful 10:30.58 minutes, beating his adversary by at least 10 seconds! Good job _Americanaa_!

Featured Horse:
∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle

∰ Ol' Ez de Whyle is the current owner of Steeplechase records 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, and 10. I'm sure you all know the breeder, who is no other than Bitapetrone! This horses fastest time is a mind-boggling 10:02.35! Keep up the good work at The Whyle, Bitpetrone!

Thank you for reading!
