So how much is a Thoroughbred Mare? (COMMUNITY QUESTION)
Post by bestleopardbreeders »
So I was wondering how much someone would pay for a thoroughbred mare. Anyways they are the most popular breed in the game and when I put one up for sale the horse is gone in a day max. I usually charge 10k45k and I caught myself asking myself if I was charging enough.
Same thing with my stud ads. I get 4-5 people breeding to my horses a day(not to brag) and I considered maybe raising my prices.
So the big question. How much is considered a reasonable price for different colors, rarities, stats, EVALS, different markings or fluffy manes? If someone could post the questions I ask below that would really help me out.
Username:
How much would you price a leopard thoroughbred mare and/or stallion?
How about a 62+ speed thoroughbred mare?
A champion White Stallion with feathers?(or any pretty champion):
A tobiano leopard horse?
A rare color thoroughbred horse?(Please list the rare colors)
A thoroughbred mare in general(Please have a range of pricesEX. 5K-10K)
A thoroughbred filly speed stats (55-62)
A thoroughbred colt speed stats (58-64)
It would be really helpful to me if someone could help me. Thank you!

Hello! I breed TB's as well and I find myself struggling to find out whether I sell my horses for to much, or not enough. I think one of the big factors in determining this as well, is if the horse is trained or not.bestleopardbreeders wrote:...

How much would you price a leopard thoroughbred mare and/or stallion?:
-Trained with 60+ speed: 750k+
-Untrained foal with 60+ speed: 100k
-Untrained horse with 60+ speed: N/A (I only sell mine trained atm)
-Trained with 50-59 speed: 200k
-Untrained with 50-59 speed: 3k-50k
How about a 62+ speed thoroughbred mare?
-Trained: 1 mil or more
-Untrained: 200k-500k
A champion White Stallion with feathers?(or any pretty champion): 100k-500k
A tobiano leopard horse?: I LOVE these so for me it would be more probably:
-Trained with high confo: 1mil or more
-Untrained or with lower confo: 100k
A rare color thoroughbred horse?(Please list the rare colors): N/A (I'm not so sure of what is and isn't rare )
A thoroughbred mare in general(Please have a range of pricesEX. 5K-10K): 10k-100k
A thoroughbred filly speed stats (55-62): 50-150k
A thoroughbred colt speed stats (58-64): 50-500k
I hope this helps!! Good luck!

I agree (generally) with islandhill's answer.
Really, if you're thinking or beginning to feel that your prices are too low, then they probably are. You want to price your sale horses at about the rate of selling in 24 to 36 hours. This way you can still use your turns without slowing yourself down. This is assuming you're not selling from a freeze account. I'd suggest using a freeze account if you churn turns, or you have specific horses that you want specific prices for. These horses (with few exceptions) should still move at a rate of 1 every 4 days... which means if a horse hasn't sold in four days, there's probably a reason: saturated market, lower than expected stats, ad is lacking, etc.
You want the purchaser to say 'Good horse, acceptable price, all mine!' for the bulk of your sales. You don't want a purchaser to say 'Good horse... price is a little high... let me think about it.' However, this second statement is acceptable for 'certain' horses. Those that you want a certain amount for.
All that said, it appears you're in the 'Good horse, GREAT! price, I'm snatching.'
You've been around for long enough and have been selling for long enough successfully, don't be afraid to feel the market out a bit more.
As for your studs... you'll want to regulate their offspring by their price at stud. If it's a stallion that appears to pop a higher amount of good foals, you might want to limit their use by raising the stud fee. If it's a stallion that appears to have a lot of usage with recipe-breeds, then you might want to keep his fee a little lower (unless said coverings are selling those foals for a great deal more, then reprice coverings appropriately ).

Yeah I have like no basis at all (idk just kinda sell them at whatever) so this will give it some structure until I figure out what works for my horsesislandhill wrote:Thanks! Oh my word I did that when I gave up on my QH's XD I just donated them all. Or I rehome them because I'm too lazy to press three buttons to put them up for sale~besthorsebreeder~ wrote:OMG same haha!
