I was thinking more of the 100-500K range lol. With the economy still being inflated and all, I definitely think players who can afford it, will pay for good quality training and a reliable trainer. That being said, it'll probably be unfair to newbies, but I won't be too concerned, because I only want to train horses that are actually going to be entered in competitions. Since I can train 4 stats to 100% and finish training in less than two and a half years, I think it's reasonable.
BlackOak2 wrote: Well, I do know my process, so it shouldn't be too fickle. Room might be a problem at first, but that's always the case. At least the process is straightforward!
Yup yup, that's one thing good at least!
BlackOak2 wrote: Rant and vent is fine. You're in good company with the way you feel. I have no problem sharing what I breed up, but in some cases, I do have a problem with it (very, VERY few of my leopard tarpans have been shared with anybody, with the exception of a needed one to increase patterning in black and agouti beyond the neckline).
Personally, I'm one of those that will struggle until the very end, trying to create something without much or any help from others. At the same time, I am willing in some cases to take advantage of others work for certain things. But I am right there with you. Either take advantage with work on your own part, or take advantage with your own uses in mind. Don't take advantage of work I did, then sell them for mucho-monies, just because you got it cheap. We as a community offer plenty to get newbies off the ground and flying and even support each other when we need assistance. There's no reason to abuse that.
Lookie that! Now you got me ranting!
I'm glad you feel the same way too. I thought I was being too touchy/sensitive about that but I can't stomach the general stealing lines thingy. The solution is simple, don't sell or stud out, and is what I do, so hopefully there won't be any instances in the future where I keep getting all salty about it.
That's same for me, I would rather struggle with my TBs in private than breed to a new/upcoming good stud. It saves me money! Although I was guilty of it several times, most of the foals turned out so horrible because of the (difference between my horses' body type and other lines) that I rehomed every foal. However definitely using other studs has benefits, but I think I'd rather avoid the guilt that comes along with it.
Yes yes and yes. I agree with everything you said! I suppose for it to be a friendly community, everyone should be willing to help each other, but also not take advantage of each other. I know that's easier said than done and I really admire how you try to help anyone in need!

There are certainly those that would willingly pay that amount. Of course the current trend for that style is a return of said horse within about 24 hours. But I think that's just because that's how quick they train up, so: decrease of time in training = increase of price.
Which in my opinion is more than acceptable.

Then, if you lighten the weight on our remaining trainers, perhaps they can take on more newbie training, and so on...

In order to create a good, strong community, one needs to be a part OF a good, strong community. As I'm sure you remember, there are a LOT of awful communities out there, so the introduction of newbies into this one is a bit... rough... at times. But it's getting established to the point that newbies are integrating better and better as the months pass. Like the infamous line in Star Trek, by the Borg 'You will be assimilated.'

However, if planned right... and that's where you can see where you are in your own personal breeding practices... crossing to the right stud or bloodline, can produce brilliantly:

She's descended from a stallion that broke a world record... she broke one herself... and I took the plunge to cross to this stud:

For a whopping 200k a cover. Twice! And both, though perhaps slightly less than the top marks I was hoping, made the grade in spades... one brother broke the same record his mother broke and the other brother is a generalized specialist! Okay, so that's a bit weird to say, but he really cleans up in so many disciplines, it really is a specialty for him. Right now the one is out to stud on loan.

So, yes, I'm proud of that line :D
I'm presently looking for one last outside match for that mare... something that will complement her and really, preferably not a thoroughbred, though they make great crosses, I've already done that with her. So... if you can think of any horse.... I'll find an appropriate last match eventually, but I do need the room and it's time she ends her career as a brood.

I assume you'll be upgrading at some point again. Let us know (or me) if you need conf scores done in the interim, we'll keep you covered.

*Nods* perhaps I'll get to making the thread after my exams are over!

Yes, I'm sure they can, it's just that I tend to keep to my bloodline too much and my horses end up being quite different from the other studs with mixed bloodlines. Also, there's the issue of COI, with my horses having much lower COI than the ones out there. I know it doesn't affect anything, but since I worked hard to keep it low, it doesn't make sense for me to breed to a stud with 100% COI when mine is only 50%+.

Your mare is gorgeous! She produced nice babies as well, congrats!

You're looking for a stud to that mare? I can offer my Standardbreds if you're interested, I don't often offer except to close friends but I trust my line(part of??) be in good hands!

You can find most of my Standardbreds in here:

Let me know if any of them catch your eye!

You know, now that I'm remembering about the crossing, COI never crossed my mind to check on that stud... Whoops!
Of course, I'm not too concerned with COI from outer lines. Because the ones I choose to cross out too, that inbreeding is going to be cut by my line. And also, I don't offer too many breedings from any single line of my own. Yes, I'll spread it out a little, but they need to do something Outstanding! to get a few more... like breaking a world record and having a foal also break a record. She was originally up for 3 foals in total.

Anyway... If we agree on a good match, I can close her foal bloodline off to any public, friend or otherwise access until a few generations pass. I do occasionally sell a horse from that competition line, usually one that isn't meeting expectations and often to a newbie as a grinder. My line is far from the top... well, not so far anymore, but some of these are exclusive and will remain so. However, that said... If you're interested, and she hangs around long enough, I can produce a couple foals from the match, one for you and one for me.

So you understand, her one son is on loan to help inflate the current stats of the racers produced by HorzeLover101, and some of their other fast stock.
Although they're breeding back to pureblood before entering competition. Belgian racers... quite the sight to see:
http://www.horseworldonline.net/ranks/h ... 2&g=0&d=14

Probably not too much of the mare's bloodline into those racers, but that is the general purpose of the cross. And that is generally the way I lend out some of my bloodstock. You just let me know what restrictions you want and I'll be sure to follow through. I just want some fresh blood so, like you :D I can work to keep my COI from climbing too high.

So thank you for the offer. I'll look through your stock and maybe together we can find a cross. Or rather I can offer what I find and you can offer your insight. :D

Wow! What A Lineup!
Gorgeous production.

Congratulations on all that work! No wonder you want to keep your bloodlines exclusive.
Now I feel my own bloodlines come up lacking!

Actually, they do a bit. Not too much, they have their own brilliance, but they're not pureblood and they don't have quite as polished stat scores as yours does.
Hmm... I still have work to do!

These are the ones that turned my eyes. These first four are a combination of competition records, conf scores and breeding report. In order:
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1318458 - Iron Lark of
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1261745 - Gold City of
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1309706 - Iron Gates of
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1313567 - Silver Swan of

This last one doesn't have a comp record, but the conf scores and breeding report caught my eye.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1283224 - Withered Leaves of

Now for your insight. Like you, I do have concerns about crossing into different body styles. Although she's already crossed well to a racing-style, so I suspect she'll do well again. Out of all of them, I think though that Silver Swan and Withered Leaves might be too drastic of a cross, especially in the hip angle area.

Plus your face conformation is quite different from Eternal's... your's are more right side, mine are more left side, except for Withered Leaves... I'm not too sure how much that might affect things.

So that's where I'm at.

I'm working on TB's, Bashkirs, and Sooty Dapple TB's. I'm probably going to grab up one more project.
You could...
Breed a Silver Black Dapple Pearl Horse

Make NAB'S With lot's of good stats

Try starting up a farm of Florida Crackers
____________________________________
Breed Trakheners
_______________
Make good Forest Horses to go up against Totina's.

Those sound like some fun projects if you don't know what to do. ;)

Thank you!

Funnily enough, TBs and Sooty dappled TBs used to be my project before I went on hiatus

Ah, I already have a few of those, bred pearl into my Spotted Saddle a long time ago!

Ooh, yes that sounds interesting! Would also love to incorporate those paint markings into my lines.

Ah, I don't think I'll want to try that lol

Trakheners aren't my thing, but I've kept a few of those!

Ahh that's daunting, Totina's forest horses aren't a joking matter

Thank you for the suggestions! I think I will continue breeding racers (TBs, Spotted Saddle) and hopefully, hopefully, win back some of my world records!
LOL, I'm following your footsteps. That sounds good! Good to have you back. :D

Hi Tisha, it’s so good to see you around again! :) We’re glad to have you back!!
Like Sawd and Black Oak said, racers, specially TBs, are the most popular trend in the game right now. I’ve also noticed that more rarer breeds are becoming more popular because there are a few players that are trying to get every breed of horse on their farm. So they’ve been generating some attention to rarer breeds, which is nice.
I can’t wait to see your racers around again; I’ve always enjoyed drooling over them  Perhaps I could do an interview with you some time to include in my racing newsletter? :D
Once again, it’s good to have you back! :)

Hi Tisha! Welcome back!
I am currently breeding *5 eval Paso Fino's on this account and on my side account Lila2517 I breed *5 eval friesians.
You could maybe try to bring back some rare breeds that there is only one or two left.
Start a training and/or champing service.
Start breeding a breed for a specific discipline and make them very successfull in it.
Help new players to get used to the game.
These are my suggestions!
