Realistic Arabian Breeding Association (RABA)

Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

I'm breeding two black-eyed palominos, why do the foals keep becoming tiger eyed creams? Here's the mare and stud:

Thy only produced 1 dark eyed palomino, I re-homed the rest

Looks like she is .2hh too short, which automatically means she isn't type (since she doesn't have a 5 star evaluation). Otherwise, she's lacking in tail carriage, dish, and eye size. Not the best, but not too bad for an AC mare.

Palomino is one cream gene on a chestnut base. The cream horses with blue eyes I believe you are referring to are cremello, which have two cream genes on a chestnut base. Double cream horses always have blue eyes. That's about all I know, but if you want more information you can post your questions on the What Color Is My Horse? forum.

Neither of them are type. They're getting there, though. The first one has cream and doesn't have a 5 star evaluation, which automatically disqualifies her. The second filly has flaxen and also does not have a 5 star evaluation. When it comes to traits, it is very hard to tell so early. I usually evaluate my horses on whether or not they are type when they reach breeding age, as their features are not likely to change much after that point.

I strongly suggest, if you're wanting to breed primarily for RABA type, that you start breeding your stock with some AC stock. AC horses tend to be closer to what we are looking for, rather than the really diverse Arabian gene pool that has developed along with high HGP. I actually try to avoid Arabians with high HGP when I breed my RABA Arabians, just because they rarely fit my standards. If you want, I could put a stud or two up for you to use, just to give you a head start in your breeding. :D

Hello fellow players, and I apologize for grave-digging this old thread. (It's been over a year) Just found it after skimming through some of my old posts. It's been a while...
I was curious if anyone would still be interested in this? Don't know if horsesfurever is still active or still has the same breeding goals, but long story short I took a loooong break and came back only recently. I won't be online everyday but I plan to get on at least about once or twice-ish a week (I do have a life). I will definitely try to be more active on this thread than I was before if people are interested.

No worries! I've been on an extended break myself. I rarely have time to even get on here and check my notifications, let alone breed seriously like I was before! I'm not sure if I'll come back or not. I love this game and this community, but I just don't think I can afford to spend the time that I want to on here. However, if you want to get RABA up and running again, I think that's great! If you want or need any of my stock for breeding purposes, let me know and we can work something out.

Username: TrapandJup
Side Accounts (if any): none
Number of RABA-type Arabians you own: 0 atm, will be buying some AC stock
Do you agree to the rules stated above?: yes
Are you willing to trade horses with other members in order to maintain a relatively low COI?: well I don’t want to give my horses away but I would allow free/cheap breedings and foals!
Are you willing to strictly breed for the conformation traits listed above?: yep, I have tried this project before and am excited to try again!
Do you have any questions about RABA?: no, I don’t think so!
