Gemini Fields - Champs, Sales, Studs, general info, accomplishments
Post by Babydluv81 »
This might seem like a lot, but for new players some of this info might be of use!
DAY 1- When I first started, I originally chose Belgians and a Forest Horse. I like the heavier breeds but for some reason the Belgians just don't intrigue me like I thought they would...Found some nice Gypsy Vanners I wouldn't mind getting into once I get more money and knowledge of the game. I found a list on the forums that should prove helpful in deciding what to train my horses in. http://www.horseworldonline.net/forum/v ... =12&t=1235
DAY 2- Found a beautiful newborn foal for $200 and decided she's going to be my Golden Girl. She's a beautiful Arabian with 5 gold stats and Horse Genetic Potential: 65,855. I've decided to train her in Western Trail.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1287486
DAY 3- I liked the Arabians so well, I ended up buying a few more. Most of them have gold and green stats. I'm excited to see what foals I will get.
DAY 4 through 6 - I have given each horse an event to focus training for. So far I've made some progress, all be it slow. I was disappointed to learn that horses that are maxed out in skills can enter even lvl 1 competitions. It makes placing much more difficult for my beginner horse levels. I ended up rehoming my original 3 horses and the 2 foals I got from breeding them. The Golden Girl shows great promise and I need horses with decent stats for the best chance to win events.
Day 7- While talking in the community chat room, I made a great discovery. I always felt sad for the horses that were in poor physical shape and 0 training, but I know understand why. Since it takes so long to train a horse and you can only enter so many local shows a day, it seems pointless to try and train all my horses (like I have been). I have decided to let me breeders go some, since poor health won't kill them, and focus my training solo-y on the horse(s) I plan to show and compete.
Day 8 (or somewhere around there)- I am pleased with the great progress I have made not only training my horses but training myself too. By cutting back on training and focusing on just 1 or 2 horses, and grinding local shows until the very end of the game day, I have been able to save money and nearly max out my horses' stats already. I've also added some nice North African Barbs to my farm over the past day or two and even got a nice gypsy vanner. I have high hopes for the gypsy and have been looking more into cross breeding for rarer breeds.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/wiki/breed/307
So, I've come to a decision... After looking over the breeding charts, I've decided I want to start a breeding project. I'm going to try to breed out Aenos . I will also look for a few others that use the Barbs and Arabians, since I own them already. I think I stand a good chance and breeding out the Aenos.
I will also still try to pull out green/gold stats in the Barbs and Gypsys. I have not seen many horses with a lot of green/gold stats, so I think it will be a good challenge for me. I learned a few days prier that people inbreed a LOT to try and pull out those stats. Apparently the CIO% that shows up on the pedegree charts stands for inbred %. I wouldn't have guessed that. I'm not sure I want to inbreed all my horses to try and get the stats to come out. I might at first as a test then try some without inbreeding. I'm still amazed how many horses I come across with good stats and high CIO%.
Current Goals:
1) Continue training and grinding shows until I can expand my farm again and place the new paddock.2) Hope that someone will buy some of the horses I haven't rehomed so that I can free up space.
3) Start my breeding project:
- Breed for Pindos Pony then breed for Aenos. Hope for filly babies and stud when possible. Obtain books on the following horses to better judge the success of getting a new breed from the pairing.
Aenos = Pindos Pony x [ Tarpan x Pindos Pony ] Pindos Pony= Tarpan x [ Caspian x North African Barb ]

So.. my breeding projects got a little out of hand with about 5 going at once lol. The great news though is that I'm having a good bit of success!! I have Successfully bred out 2 Pindos and expecting 2-3 more with the next round of foals. I also have 2 1st gen Koniks. The round of foals coming soon I'm eagerly awaiting and believe I will have my first Aenos drop!! I am still working on Java for my Bali, but I have to say that I am very happy so far with what I have done. I have also had the random Baladi or Exmoor pop out. I sold the Baladi because I changed my mind about keeping it and then forgot to remove the sales add. >.< haha. So I'm breeding for more Baladi. I kind of like them. The ex I sold. I also Successfully bred out Anglo-Arabian, but decided not to keep the project and sold them. Really, I just needed the space. I might pick them up again later.
I used to eval the selected horse on it's own breed but have found that in cross breeding you need to eval what you're breeding for. The crossbreed will pop out upon getting the 5* eval of the new breed in the foal. In all failed attempts so far, it has not been a 100% eval. So, with that in mind, if you are breeding for new breeds in your heard, be sure to get the eval books from the market!!!! You will be able to identify the best pairings and get a good idea of the success rate BEFORE you breed and wait 20-26 turns.
I have decided that once these breeding projects are done, I will specialize in: Racers, Konik, Aenos, Pindos Pony, Baladi, Java, Forest Horses, and maybe continue or get back into Arabs, North African barbs, Gypsy Vanner, and Teke.
If someone wants help with a breeding project, let me know!! I would take joy in helping someone else reach their goals as well. If you'd like to see some of the Successful Breeds and possibly breed with the available Colts, you're welcome to check out my Farm. Here is a pasture for you to find me: http://www.horseworldonline.net/farm/pasture/73794

I admit I have been taking breaks here and there in my game play. I love my horses but I tend to burn myself out if I'm not careful.. So.. here is my latest Update
Thanks to an awesome breeder named 8arbarossa and her 'staff' I now have a Timor Pony to aid in my breeding for Java and onward to Bali.
I might breed out Java for awhile, just because there isn't much being offered and it is such a critical breed for several others.
I have Successfully bred out Shire and Aenos. So far only the first ones, but I am looking forward to more foals soon. I do not have nearly as many horses in the Shire project as I do the Aenos. I'm looking to start phasing out the breeders for the Pindos Project.
I am thinking about trying to get some better stats into Baladi. I don't exactly know why I'm drawn to them, but at the moment, they are holding my interest.
I still have an interest in Gypsy Vanner and Teke but until I get some of these breeding project horses sold or retired, I just don't have the room or attention span to juggle more than what I'm already working on. If nothing else, my competitors are keeping me pretty busy training, breeding, and selling. I train all my horses myself. My skill is low, still, so it takes me years to complete. I do sell horses I think would make good competitors or breeders. Sometimes just because I'm over run with colts or the same bloodline. I will also occasionally train horses I plan to breed now, but sell in the future.
