Your best bet is to look through the marketplace and see the prices on similar horses.Tahlik20 wrote:http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1172572 Cookie Lover

True, but you can take an average...also, how much a horse is worth is a matter of opinion, which can be based on several factors, including:Tahlik20 wrote:But some horses may be much more than they are worth and i have had alot of comments from people saying that my horses are up for to much
Buyer's
On hand money
Room
Your
Desire to move said horses

Like what has already been offered.Tahlik20 wrote:

You can post them for 'private sale' to see what could be offered on them for a week or two. Keep in mind that there are buyers that won't offer on a private sale but will instead only purchase outright. That being said, you can also see if there is any interest at all on your horses.
This community is always looking for sometimes very random horses, so what may be sought after now, may have no more use in a month. Then there are some types of horses that are always 'in-season', such as high GP coupled with low COI or those that are used for multiple breed creations.
If you're looking for a niche business, you'll need to figure out what you want and what the community needs. If you're looking for a money-making business, find something that the community will always have need of (multiple breed creation, coupled with high GP and low COI stock is generally needed all the time). If you're looking to make some money for the short term to get yourself to that next barn or player training, your best bet is doing the local shows. Even purchasing a 'fodder' horse that can get you there might be worth it (a fodder horse is a horse that has very little worth for anything but can make some bread-and-butter, short-term, local show earnings).
I found some short-term earnings in training usable, breed-creation horses that other players bred. I then entered them into player-made competitions, filling out their comp-history then put them up for sale. I'd purchase them very young for up to 15 thousand (paying particular attention to COI, breeder's report and the star ratings of breed-creations), train them fully and by the end of their competitions (at about 5 years of age), they'd have earned back their purchase price and training costs. Then I'd put them up for offers or direct sale and they'd generally get sold within a day or two.
That's how I funded early skill learning, barn and pasture purchases and even my projects. I even utilized it to hone my horse-training skills.
Good Luck!
