【ℤA's Realistic Horse Breeder Registry】- CLOSED / INDEFINITE HIATUS

Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Re: 【ℤA's Realistic Horse Breeder Registry】- POSSIBLE HIATUS

Oh, I'd be interested in this as I am working towards true to type and good stats/hgp. I'm on my phone right now so will pull out some of my best examples tomorrow when I'm back on PC, but I am breeding Knabstruppers, Connemaras and a smal line of true to type Welsh Cobs as so many out there were looking awful :o .

Update - the 【RHBR】 is open again!

The place I tried doing a working student program was too physically demanding, and basically expected me to split the upkeep of a 48 stall barn with 100 or so horses with the other three (or sometimes two) guys working there. Six days a week, 7am to 8pm, minimal breaks. :( I didn't grow up in the industry, I'm not an athlete, their program is not for me - my body physically broke down by the third day. Therefore, I'll be looking for a less demanding / shorter part-time position locally.

If anything, I came out of it with more experience handling fussy horses on a lead. So there's that.

Further information on the breed can be found at the following sites:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabian_horse
https://www.arabianhorses.org/discover/ ... 20Standard
http://www.arabianbreedersworldcup.com/scoring-system

【Current Breeding Standards】
.. Last updated 5/3/2019
  • 14.1hh to 15.1hh.
  • Horse type, with light to very light body.
  • Legs of very light to medium bone / thickness.
  • Hair is medium to long, and silky. No feathers.
  • Shoulder is long and sloped.
  • Head is around 1/2 to 2/3 the length of the shoulder.
  • Head has a slightly concave profile with shallow jowls and small muzzle.
  • Neck is around the same length as the back.
  • Back is at maximum 1+1/3rd the length of the shoulder, measuring from the withers.
  • Ribs are deep, with a medium to deep flank.
  • Built slightly uphill with a long, flat hip and high-set tail.
  • Coat can be bay, chestnut, or black. Greying, *roan, and *tobiano markings are accepted.
  • Glass or light-colored eyes are discouraged.
*NOTE: IRL purebred Arabs do not carry the roan or tobiano gene - rather, they carry the sabino gene, which is similar to tobiano and can produce a roan-type coat appearance. Because the sabino gene is not within HWO, we accept true tobiano and roan horses.

【In-Game Examples】
★★★★★ Arabian

I'm working on breeding Arabians like this however, I'm pretty sure Arabians are supposed to have thick jowls

Andalusians

【Andalusians】
Otherwise known as the Pure Spanish Horse, or PRE (pura raza española).

Further information on the breed can be found at the following sites:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andalusian_horse
https://uspreba.com/phasellus-felis-dolor/
https://www.yeguadaaimaran.com/pre-conf ... e-vs-sport
With regards to maximum height:
http://andalusianworld.com/site/2013-revision/

【Current Breeding Standards】
.. Last updated 5/15/2019
  • Mares are 14.3hh to 16.3hh, Stallions are 15hh to 17hh.
  • Horse type, with medium ("Baroque" type) to medium light ("Sport" type) body.
  • Legs of medium bone / thickness.
  • Hair is long and silky. No feathers.
  • Shoulder is long and sloped.
  • Head is around 2/3 the length of the shoulder.
  • Head has a straight or slightly convex profile with thick jowls.
  • Neck is as at minimum as long as the shoulder, measuring from the withers.
  • Back is at around 1+1/3rd the length of the shoulder, measuring from the withers.
  • Ribs are deep, with a medium flank.
  • Built slightly uphill with long, round hips and a tail set below the spine.
  • From withers to croup, there should be no "straight lines" - the back should have a nice slope down from the withers, then back up into a nicely rounded croup. In HWO, training is required to properly display a rounded croup - although a good sloped hip should produce such.
  • Coat can be any color, but greying is encouraged.
【In-Game Examples】

★★★★☆ Realistic Andalusian - Faults: Long back. Deep flank.

★★★★☆ Realistic Andalusian - Faults: Thin jowls. Long back.

【Currently Registered Breeders】
★★★☆☆
Ziel / Z.A. Sanctuary - 3-4 Star horses, HGP in the 40k range.
