AWE Royal Rascal
he's clearly grulla, but his parents (bred by me) don't appear to carry dun. I have a suspicion that his dam may have been a minimally expressed grulla. Opinions?

Most definitely from dam. If the horse isn't BLACK-black, then there is probably an expression of dun happening (unless cream, pearl or champagne is the culprit).Aliw1995 wrote:

Also the sire, Royal Fantasy appears to be carrying pangare as well, so don't be surprised if your colt throws a pangare foal later on.
The grandsire, Wonderful Celebration is a non-dun black (for comparison), so the dun came through the granddame line.
