Sonet...
You always start out humble and afraid
You learn the ropes and try to follow ‘long
You get a job and when you first get paid
You spend it all to hear the horses song
For starting out if harder than you thought
And money didn’t stretch to cover bills
And vet, and feed, and board, and tack you sought
You wash away your troubles on the hills
You enter competitions for the thrill
And soon the the prizes start to flow right in
You build your farm next to an old saw mill
Your horses start to dominate and win
At first you thought your dream was all so wrong
You've spent it all to hear the horses song
Then some freestyle
Two haikus...
Falling through the sky
Peering at the world below
Bracing for impact
Crisp November night
Snowflakes dancing all around
Quiet, peaceful, snow
And finally an ode to my Alarm Clock
Oh alarms
Your voice pounds inside my head
You are not precious to me at all
I mean…
I love your blaring digits so
And your sweet sweet voice that lays within your shell
How I love you and my morning would never be the same
If you weren’t there to wake me up
Nothing can compete with you
You have a voice of torture
And above all...
You really really suck

I love the rhythms of poems. I most enjoy making up my own rhythms, so here's my go at it.Poseikip wrote:Hey guys! I am hosting a poetry contest wher we actually have two divisions, each with an opportunity for money. Here we go!

Shakespearean
Open eyes to breaking dawn
Sighing as the dream is gone
Burdened by a heavy cost
Everything it loved was lost
Fading in and fading out
Silent screams and muted shouts
No one hears and no one sees
Sadness bring it to its knees
Shades are often sly and rotten
But some are good and live forgotten
It is yet another husk
Forever calm, waiting for dusk
Shades begin empty, and can all could stay
But not all can chase the dark away
And here is my freestyle attempt.
All I want is silence
In my loud chaotic life
And as I try to quiet things
I fill my heart with strife
I sew my lips and plug my ears
To silence all the sound
But sadly that is not enough
And in the noise I drown
And yet some noise is welcome
In the quiet world I wish
For there are some that I enjoy
And let them fill my dish
I guess I don't desire
Total silence in my life
Quiet sounds and gentle tones
Won't cut me like a knife.
This is my side account btw. I forgot what I was logged into.

Sonnet:
Since brass, nor stone, nor earth, nor boundless sea
But sad mortality o’er-sways their power,
How with this rage shall beauty hold a plea,
Whose action is no stronger than a flower?
O, how shall summer’s honey breath hold out
Against the wreckful siege of battering days,
When rocks impregnable are not so stout,
Nor gates of steel so strong, but Time decays?
O fearful meditation! where, alack.
Shall Time’s best jewel from Time’s chest lie hid?
Or what strong hand can hold his swift foot back?
Or who his spoil of beauty can forbid?
O, none, unless, this miracle have might
That in black ink my love may still shine bright
One Fine Day in early Spring
I played a Funny Trick
Right in the yard behind my house
I planted a Lollipop Stick
And every day i watched it well
and watered it carefully
I hope one day my stick
will grow into a Lollipop tree
February Poem
Where has that old friend gone
Lost in a February song
Tell him it won't be long
'Til he opens his eyes
Opens his eyes
Where is that simple day
Before colors broke into shades
And how did I ever fade
Into this life
Since brass, nor stone, nor earth, nor boundless sea
But sad mortality o’er-sways their power,
How with this rage shall beauty hold a plea,
Whose action is no stronger than a flower?
O, how shall summer’s honey breath hold out
Against the wreckful siege of battering days,
When rocks impregnable are not so stout,
Nor gates of steel so strong, but Time decays?

The only real thing is pain
Coming down like rain
I can't see anymore
My dream is nothing of a glore
I see you there
But you only hold a glare
I run to my cure
The creature is my lure
Its breath is warm
Its hair whipping in a storm
The ground shakes
The creatures flee in its thunderous wake
As we pound by
You become simply a thought with a sigh
This creature, this cure
Its heart is to pure
To not save me
Since she hears my uttered plea
I am saved, riding with nothing to find
No fences with which we are lined
I am free
Heaven is as far as I can see
I must say this feelings source
I am on the back of a horse
Good? Bad? Creepy?

Haiku...
Lunging on the flat
Training my horse for greatness
Every trainers dream
Now my cinquains...
Horse
Wild, Free
Galloping, Racing, Singing
Fierce for their homelands
Freedom
Beautiful
Graceful, Skilled
Prancing, Judging, Connecting
Pirouette on the spot
Dressage
Sonnet...
A Beautiful morning awaits me
I see the sunrise out of my window
I run out, for my horses I must see
And I turn them out on a soft meadow
I catch my favorite, a painted mare
I halter her and take her to the barn
I groom her carefully, with loving care
Her frail frame had almost no sign of carne
I remember that horrid day to well
When we bought the poor, abused, starving horse
The Center said that the mares name was Bell
I had cried much for her, my voice was coarse
“There there, little girl” I had said to her
“Now you will be forever safe from them”
