Welcome contestants. The Rare Breed Contest is officially underway. Just a few reminders:

1) You can not buy off market or stud to any animals of your chosen breed. You may use adoption center horses or horses of other breeds.

2) The general time frame is estimated 6+ months from now or whenever everyone has supplied, at least, 10 purebred horses of their chosen breed (note only 10 will be evaluated). If you can not contend anymore please notify.

3) This is not a race. Please have fun & enjoy yourselves.

So very excited for this contest!! It's going to be so nice to see all these rare breeds get some attention, and I'm already enjoying having a goal to work toward.

I did have two quick questions already in trying to make sure I understand the rules: if I do use this Tibetan Pony that I bought to work toward my breed, each horse in this Tibetan Pony's pedigree is going to take points off my final score, yeah?

Also, when calculating if a horse was bred by you or someone else, which would possibly cost points, are you only taking into account the person entered into the contest, or also any person they've listed as someone helping them?

Players can't use any horses of the chosen breed (for you Hequs) which they didn't breed. So you can't stud or buy Hequs from other players. If you buy Tibetan ponies from other breeders that's fine.

I understood that to mean that when going through my finished Hequ, any horse that was not bred by me in its lineage would take off points. So, if I use that Tibetan pony that has a big pedigree full of horses bred by someone who is not me, and that pedigree ends up attached to my Hequ's pedigree, all those ancestors will take points off of the total. Or did I misunderstand that?

I just want to make sure I'm understanding this right before I end up digging myself into a hole.

That ties with the usage of horses from your chosen breed you didn't breed. So if you bred to a Hequ stud owned by player A & bought a Hequ mare from player B they're all gonna be penalized. Anything else won't be.
