The worst part is trying to breed out a gene and instead, it goes to cryptic. But it is neat sometimes to breed a gene from what was once considered a non-gene carrying line.
I haven't run into too many cryptics yet. Most of my lines like to shout their color loud and clear. Except some of the duns.

Speaking of, check out this guy.

Plain bay dun, right?

But he certainly made me wonder as a youngster:

He just had so much RED in his mane and tail, and his little black socks were so faint at first. I never really believed he was a red dun, but sometimes I wondered.

Yeah! I've come across that a lot too!
It's those tarpan and prze genes. Which is why I likely rehomed the first official TWO bay leopard patterning up the neck, until Commonality came along. He had a sister and a brother before him that I thought a couple times about and said 'nah... can't be.' After seeing him all grown up, I went 'D'oh! ... They probably were...'
It's amazing how they can make us second guess our first assumptions.

A nice combination of genes I chanced upon in the recent gallery images on the front of the site.
He appears to be a grullo roan blanket with tiger eye.

Almost a yearling

One of the darkest set of BLUE eyes I've seen. Quite remarkable.

On a Flaxen Cremello.

Close up of the face as a yearling.

New Belgain Line Filly

Take a look at this stunning filly.
She is going to be a broodmare for my next gen racing Belgians.
What i find fascinating is that she is a roan, and not just any color.... She should be a blue tinge such as a blue roan (black Base) but she doesn't even have the slightest blue color. Its completely roan on black with no dilution to the black making it look blue. O.o

Quite the strong roaning. I've seen only a couple instances of this (at this strength) and it's always quite stunning!

Pseudo-Buckskin.
So much so, that I actually first labeled her as a buckskin, then remembered that her line carries pearl, but not cream.

She's in fact, a bay dun pangare.

As a newborn.
