The following poem has been entered, however I could not accept the "Sonnet" entry. It doesn't follow the form listed at all. If it was minor infractions I would accept, but I am afraid this is too butchered.Little_Cookie771 wrote:Freestyle -
If I should think of love
I'd think of you, your arms uplifted,
No melody is sweeter, nor could Orpheus
So have bewitched. I think of this,
And all my universe becomes perfection.
But were you in my arms, dear love,
The happiness would take my breath away.
If I should think of love,
I'd think of you.

Thank you all for your entries and birthday wishes! I am currently working on judging, though results may be slightly late. Sorry!Stick wrote:.
Sonnet- (Comment with rehomable horse up for sale for prize)
1. jsrules (Prize collected)
You started off absolutely beautiful. I really did appreciate the feminine endings in Quatrain 1. I could really feel the stressed and unstressed syllables. I also loved how the poem was a question. (Many of my writings are questions, as some of your best thoughts are about things you don't know.)However, you accidentally made Quatrain 2 and 3 5 lines. A minor error, as your rhyming couplet was in the right spot, you just hit return at the wrong spots.
2. HOrse Haven (Prize collected)
I was glad to see you hit the form on the money. The flow was there, but I just couldn't easily identify the subject matter. No periods at the end of sentences.
3. KYTrainer
Once again, beautiful form. I really like how you use the simplest words to tell the story. No periods at the end of sentences but I could tell where they were supposed to end. The rhyming couplet at the end didn't rhyme though?
4. Redpyre (Prize Collected)
Perfect form. There were some slight problems in reading it though. There was no punctuation ANYWHERE and it just felt like a run-on sentence all the way through. I did my best to understand, but I think it would have felt way more complete with punctuation.
5. AkumaKashi Holding (Prize collected)
The basic form was there, but only one line was the full ten syllables necessary. Every other line was 7-9 syllables. No periods at the end of sentences.
Freestyle- (Still Judging, possibiliy of day-late results)

Wow, didn't realize it's your birthday. Happy birthday! It's also my jersey show heifer's birthday today. She turned two. I didn't realize periods were very important in poetry. I'll take that into consideration next time I try writing. And the number of syllables. I usually just try to make things flow. I'll do more counting on the future. Thanks for the critique! It'll certainly help me because of I know my english teacher, she'll make us write poems before the end of the year.
