Morgan Breeding
Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

First off, thank you for the offer. I have bid on a mare that will fit right in with my breeding program! Secondly when Happy Golden Days of AWE (great name by the way) gives birth if it is a morgan filly I would love to buy her. If it is a morgan colt I would look at his confo and see if he would work. If it is not a morgan I would love to see him/her but I would probably not buy them.(She is really pretty by the way) I hope that this works for you and that you have a happy New Year!Xant’hippe wrote:ICYMI, this thread has more info about selling Morgans:HOrse haven wrote: Awesome!

Thanks. New York Granite is yours. I will age up Happy as soon as I can, and we'll see what happens with the foal.HOrse haven wrote: First off, thank you for the offer. BTW, the earlier successful scratch Morgan is not available for stud or purchase . I sent him to a trainer who has apparently quit the game; has not been active since February of this year. If you want to look at this colt anyway, here he is:
Winter Whispers, son of Timid Whispers:

I can't repeat the breeding because the stallion has passed on.
One of the very good features of this game is that (Arabian x Welsh Cob) = (Welsh Cob x Arabian), and that a breeding mare or stallion of either cross can be mated with a Thoroughbred of the needed gender. So sometimes if a mare with one type of pedigree isn't available, you can try the other way around. There are still plenty of stallions posted.
Again, thanks for your interest and purchase, and happy new year.
Best,
Xan

Since the folks on this thread are interested in Morgans, I would like any one of you to have this nice young prospect for a modest price. I will post him for "Offers Only" and you can bid $500 if you like. I love and admire Morgans but it's become clearer to me that I don't have the time or energy to do them justice.
Also, these two fine Morgan stallions need a home; suggested bid $100 each.

Finally, look for sponsored Morgan classes in Saddleseat, Western Pleasure, and Driven Dressage, level 5. (If a higher level is needed, ping me right here, or send a PM.
Happy New Year, indeed!

Claire trained him thoroughly but could not make his temperament other than "Bombproof" even with high-sugar food -- not the only horse like that, I have another. Anyway, here he is, hope he gives you many foals and show honors too!
As for the temperament thing, it means it's no use to race him at high levels against High-Strung TBs, Turkmenes, etc. He should do just fine in saddle or harness disciplines, possibly even Endurance -- try him! I'm sponsoring some Morgan-specific Level 5 shows and hope that they will be popular.
