Advices on Arabian breeding

Post by Perséphone »

Hi everyone,

I'm an all new player trying to breed perfomant, colorful Arabians, which aren't too tall and have a really light body type, with a small, Arabian-style head. I currently have three arabians mares and a Turkmene x Arabian stallion, but do you know which breeds I could add in my lines for more colors and of a very light type ?

Thank everyone ! <3

Have a nice day !

It depends on if you want to stick with just AC or open your lines to already established bloodlines. It also depends on what your definition of 'colorful' might be.
Already, on this game, you can find quite a bit of unusual or uniquely-bred purebloods, for instance, we have successful racing belgians, light-body style.
If you want to stick with AC (that's adoption center) breeds then the most colorful, if you consider tobiano your style, then NAB (north african barbs) would likely be your best consideration. If you want leopard complex (the spots), then the tarpans will open that up for you. If you want more than bay, chestnut and black, again, the NAB would be your bet, or the turks.

But if you want to open your lines to already established ones here on HWO, then cruise the market and just be picky.
Use our color guides and get to know the colors a little. We work off of genetics here. So certain genes will offer certain colors and certain genes, unless they exist, can NOT offer certain colors.
Which does bring me to my warning. If, when you're cruising the AC, you see a horse coat color that just doesn't seem right, it might be a coat glitch. These glitches cannot be passed on and the horse will eventually change to show it's real color.

I can help if you want already established horses as BlackOak2 says. I don't have many any more but I bread them for ages. If you could link a horse that is the kind of thing you are looking for it would be a help.

Thanks for your replies !

I'm totally fine with opening my lines to already established lines, as that might be somehow easier.
About colors, yes, I was thinking of tobiano, leopard and any coat colors that is different from the bay/chestnut I found at the AC.

On physical conformation, I've settled my ideal body types on my mare: https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2440837
Which means, nothing more than 15.3hh, thin mane and a really thin head (might be my most important point).

I'm also really happy with the stallion I brought (https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1656094). Only point is that he's really tall, but otherwise, I really like his type. My two mares (TC's Florida and TC's Arizona) were bred to him and I'm hoping for fillies so I could maybe cross them with smaller, leopard or tobiano sires ?

Your stallion looks really good ! Does he carry the leopard gene too ? If so, can I consider buying him ?
I'm solding my current stallion as he's really too tall (I've got nice fillies but, wow, I hoped they would be smaller) so yours would be a really nice choice as he's right the good height for my AC mares.

He may have the dappled gene but not the leopard gene. He is a very cool color though
