Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.

NORMAN COB:
so, I've learned the hard way... breeding certainly isnt as easy as it seems on paper
and it doesnt just work pairing up this couple and that couple, no matter how compatible they seem
idk how many half belgians i got instead of Norman Cobs, but i did end up with 11 foals...

yes, some of them have the fatal graying gene, and others have a couple of red stats - but overall, i'm reasonably pleased with the result.. (p.s it kinda is my first successful breeding of a new breed without crossbreeding )
what next?
right now i'm trying to quickly breed some suitable forest horse x belgian (as always, using foundation breeds from AC only) crosses before the norman cobs age too much...

while this post doesnt directly link to my personal breeding program, it does link to ADH's in genderal
according to Breeds wiki, there are currently 15 ADH's on HWO...so, ive made it a short term quest to find them all:

Exciting News Everyone! as you may or may not know, the creation of the ADH in its simplest form is as follows:
DRAUGHT - [ Shire x Clydesdale ] x [ Percheron x Suffolk Punch ]
and well, for the first time, i have created 1/4 of that breed - the Percheron!
see below for all my successful Percheron mares and stallions...
Stallions:

next up - what should i start? shire, clydesdale? or suffolk punch?

Dare I call this stage 2?
as in the above post, i now have a number of Percheron's...so i'm going to get started on some shires...
basically, im going to need a minimum of the following:
AC horses:
- 6x Forest horse
- 8x NAB
- 5x Arab
- 9x Tarpan
- 2x prez
- 1x belgian
some of which will be used to create:
- 4x WAB
- 2x Mangolian
- 3x Sorria
- 1x Andulasian
- 1x Freisan
For various reasons, ive decided to start with the WAB division, as such. why? becuase that is the biggest part within the Shire.
However, to do that - im going to create 4 completely separate lines of WAB...
if you follow my coding system, this will = 6Aiiic(one)'d'<>5Aiiic(four).<>6Aiiic(three)'d' and 6Aiiic(two)'a'.
WAB creation below: stay tuned for the hoses im going to use!
- WEST AFRICAN BARB - [Arabian x North African Barb ] x [NorthAfricanBarbxForest Horse]
- - ARABIAN - (ancient breed)
- - NORTH AFRICAN BARB - (ancient breed)
- - NORTH AFRICAN BARB - (ancient breed)
- - FOREST HORSE - (ancient breed)

Hello All.... It's been a long time, but i'm back
A quick note, and please don't hate me for posting on this topic...
I'm handing this breeding project over...
All horses are for sale, and anyone is willing to take over the research/info above. I may continue to work on the Australian Draught Horse Breed, but it will not be via this forum..
Please contact me via the below forum, which also links to the sale horses:
