Was that said somewhere?? Because I have always thought that, but assumed it was just my imagination (like how impossible it seems to get females at all sometimes, compared to males, apparently).AltNazarach wrote:She is nice (I like these dark bay-types) ^o^ right, the bs seems to be always dropping for me too -.-' and I've heard somewhere that males always carry a greater likelyhood to be better than the mares (which is a bit sh*tty because most times I try to keep more mares than males).redster wrote:
Mainly, I've been trying to get my herd up to a healthy number again, trying to get my females to pass on solid genes to the next generation of Tarpans before they age out--and give me more fillies while they're at it, haha. It seems like they only ever pass on good genes to male foals. So, any mares that have stats suitable enough to aim for Sorraias with are busy trying to make more tarpans before they die.
I do have that one really good girl that should be ready to breed soon, though. Her body size is still way small for Sorraia, but her stats are nice (and I think she's exceptionally pretty, for a Tarpan.)
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1635152
though, for the sorraia I always seemed to be of by the pony type eval rather than the bs, it was alway close but then the parents decided "hey, let's raise it for our foal, neither of us is that high but still " =.=* annoying at best...
And yeah, the pony type gets in the way a lot, but I've found it easier to randomly bounce it the other way just based on chance each breeding, while the body size seems to have no chance of getting better if it's even close to being too low.

I faintly remember, and I kept it in mind as it seemed to be true (like you also thought) ^^ but regarding the gender-chance it seems a bit weird compared to how genetics normally work, there are mainly only X and Y chomosomes; because females are XX and males are XY (both dominant if I remeber the long passed genetic classes) the chance getting males should actually be lower. there was also a rumour that it related the the time of the months during the year, but since Tom recently said it's supposed to be completely random/equal...redster wrote:Was that said somewhere?? then someone is hogging all the females! o.o
(or we just have plain bad luck <.<)
yeah, just when it 'bunces' a bit too much off charts it's not exactly helpfull (while it did indeed work for my WABs) or when it just stubbornly stay exactly the same as one of the parents...it make the breeding a bit hard indeed.
I can look if I find some tarpans or mongs that have a high or fitting BS, I kept a couple I studded to bookmarked somewhere - if it would be of help to you? (- and I will naturally take care that coi and reds will be kept to a minimum/ to zero
it may only be by next week as I'm currently finishing my time at university, but by then I should have more time ^^

Seems it's me hogging all the fillies then I always seem to get more fillies than colts
As far as the XX and XY goes, the chance should be even, as mare always passes on the X, and the stallion passes on X half the time and Y the other half. Statistically though, nature slightly favours males to females, but just slightly.
If you don't mind a part Tarpan instead of purebred, I have a boy with 63.5% BS - http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1518199
The problem is, half his foals turn out Hucul instead of cross

Haha, I'm always on the lookout for chunky Tarpans and Mongolians. I'd welcome any sort of lead. And I'm such a slow player, there's never a rush for anything with me.AltNazarach wrote:yeah, just when it 'bunces' a bit too much off charts it's not exactly helpfull (while it did indeed work for my WABs) or when it just stubbornly stay exactly the same as one of the parents...it make the breeding a bit hard indeed.

Oooh, I might have to try breeding some beefy Tarpans with him... and haha, I know that breed struggle well, but with Baladis.Tjigra wrote:If you don't mind a part Tarpan instead of purebred, I have a boy with 63.5% BS - http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1518199

Hello all;
At the moment I am trying to breed some Mangolian's as part of a long term project.
However, I seem to keep getting Exmoor Ponies and Crosses, even when there is a *5 Eval for mangolian.
can someone please help? (see below for more detail context, copied accross from my farm log: http://www.horseworldonline.net/forum/v ... 03#p113503 )
"okay, so following on from above, I've (tried) to implement what i've established...
and results? nope.
All I am getting is Exmoors (in a abundance), with a *5 eval for Mongolians
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1954645
and
a random cross, which should have been a Mongolian but isn't, despite the *5 Eval.
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1954657
some help, please?"

Yeah, I fully understand the frustration when you try to breed an adequate Prz*Tarpan cross for further Mongolians but all you get are * Exmoors Just keep on trying, sometime you'll surely get what you desire. Using the tallest dam and sire possible will give a higher chance of throwing a non-Exmoor foal.Royale Ranch wrote:Hello all;

As for this foal: http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1954657
you used the wrong recipe. You should have bred the dam to a Tarpan stallion, not a Przewalski. Btw, the dam has a good chance of producing a Mongolian foal, if bred to a high and bulky enough stallion.

Hi, i wanted to ask if your stallion (i quite like his confo) could be rested a turn? His energy ran out and i'd really like to use him again if possibleredster wrote:.

Have a look at my pastures if you are still in search for tarpans or mongolians, a few cropped out recently that were quite nice (or write me if you need a certain range and i'll have a look if any come close to it)^^

Haha... I'm a little late to seeing this post! Just by a couple years.AltNazarach wrote:Hi, i wanted to ask if your stallion (i quite like his confo) could be rested a turn? His energy ran out and i'd really like to use him again if possibleredster wrote:.

I wanted to pop in and say that I'm attempting to make a return after what turned out to be a spectacularly long hiatus. Just in case anyone still wants to use my various boys for anything, I'll be resting them for the first time in ages.

I'm still around as well. I keep letting my upgrades lapse but I have tokens when I need to mass evaluate my herds. Ping me if you want a breeding. Things are chaotic while I reorganize.
