What colour is this?
Post by Atterupgaard »
Help me please.
Normally I'm quite good at colours, but this time I'm really in great doubt!
I have three shetland ponies; from what I can see, it's a bay, a perlino, and then a God-knows-what?!
I'm sure that my Ginny is a Bay:
Atterupgaards Ginny
And sure certain that my Jasper is a Perlino:
Atterupgaards Jasper
BUT, I can't figure out what kind of colour my Joey is?!
Atterupgaards Joey
I'm thinking about some chestnut/red with some LP, snowflake or anything in that sort of things, but I'm no way near sure!

The first two are correct. The third is chestnut with pangare (aka sorrel), a hip blanket and LOTS of snowflakes.Atterupgaard wrote:Help me please.

there should be some flaxen involved as well regarding the lighter mane and lower legsRaikit wrote:The first two are correct. The third is chestnut with pangare (aka sorrel), a hip blanket and LOTS of snowflakes.Atterupgaard wrote:Help me please.

Ginny is Mealy Bay and Jasper is definitely Perlino. As for Joey, I am guessing he was originally chestnut but is graying, and of course he has patterns on him. It would be easier to figure him out with pictures from when he was a foal and if I could look at his parents. I would ask a color expert to make sure what color Joey isAtterupgaard wrote:Help me please.
