Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Budyonny

Information and Breeding

The Budyonny (bood-YAW-knee) is a warmblood sporthorse breed originating in the former USSR. Originally developed as an ideal mount for the cavalry during the Russian Revolution during the early 1900's, they have since progressed into a very hardy and versatile mount competing at higher levels in Dressage, Steeplechase, Showjumping, Eventing, and Endurance.
an elegant type of horse with stamina and endurance beyond question and yet maintaining a calm, sensible temperament.

The Budyonny is known to perform well in dressage, cross-country and jumping. From the beginning they were developed through selection and grueling testing on the racetrack and on cavalry equitation courses. A horse of multiple talents emerged. Years later the need for the sport horse brought about the refined horse that we know today as the "golden horse." The inherited sheen appears on not just the stallions, but mares and geldings as well. They stand from 16h to 17h and are well balanced and compact. - Sterling Farms LLC

Excellent, lots of crossovers with people! I'm getting my kabardas sorted and then I will be trudging my way to Russian Dons to start with.

Budyonny is my goal too, but I'm just getting started. I need some good mares first.
