The notes on my stock are getting too long for their descriptions since I like to add important ancestors that should not be crossed to each other. So I'm going to start putting those long notes here and flesh out my evaluations a bit more to make it easier to remember what I'm doing with each horse.

Good Points: Pirate Ship has mostly thin legs. He has a moderate depth of flank. His jowl is of appropriate thickness.

Moderate Points:Pirate Ship is very slightly downhill with a slightly shorter medium-length back. His hip is slightly too short. The point of his shoulder is higher than is desirable. His withers are more upright than is desirable. His neck is moderately short. His face is somewhat longer than is desirable. His face profile is very slightly too dished.

Bad Points: Pirate Ship's stifle is placed as far back as possible. His hip is much too sloped. His rib cage is terribly shallow.

Conclusion: Any potential cross for Pirate Ship should have a deep rib cage, flat hips, and very far forward stifles. An ideal cross would also be more uphill than down with longer hips, lower shoulders, sloping shoulders, a medium-length neck, and slightly shorter, moderately roman face.

Born bombproof. Should only be bred to mares with higher temperament.

Good Points: Perfect point of shoulder and jowl thickness. Good amount of uphill. Good leg thickness. Good flank depth. Good neck length.

Moderate Points: Back slightly too short. Hips slightly too short. Ribs too shallow. Withers just slightly too upright. Face slightly too long.

Bad Points: Stifles much too backward. Hips much too sloped. Face much too dished.

Conclusion: Any potential cross for Rhyme Scheme should have a roman nose, flat hips, and very forward stifles. Ideally the cross would also have a somewhat longer back and hips, deeper ribs, sloping withers, and a somewhat shorter face. He is a good cross for any mares that need refinement of the point of shoulder or jowl.

Good Points: Head is perfect. Nice deep flank. Good back length.

Moderate Points: Neck just slightly too short. Hips are a bit too sloped. Legs aren't overly thin but could be thicker. Just a little bit too uphill.

Bad Points: Withers much too upright. Point of shoulder much too high. Stifle is backwards from ideal.

Conclusion: Relaxation would be a good cross to mares that have good body conformation but need refinement in the head. Any cross should have very sloped withers, low point of shoulder, and very forward stifles. Ideally they would also have a moderately long neck, flatter hips, somewhat thick legs, and more of a downhill build.

Good Points: Perfect face length and jowl thickness.

Moderate Points: Good depth of flank. Stifle is too far forward but is still further back than most of my stock. Back slightly too short.

Bad Points: Neck is too long. Withers are too upright and point of shoulder is too low. Needs flatter hips. Much too uphill.

Conclusion: Fairly mediocre overall, but a step in the right direction for stifle placement. Any offspring should exhibit stifle placement at least equal to his position and should improve on at least one other area.

Conclusion: Few if any redeeming qualities. Little value to competition stock.

Good Points: Ideal face profile, good face length, good ribs and flank.

Moderate Points: Jowl slightly too thick, good neck length (ideal?), withers slightly too upright, decent point of shoulder, hips slightly too sloped, stifle too far back (same as sire).

Bad Points: Legs too thin, back too long, too uphill.

Conclusion: Generally moving in the right direction.
