I'd suggest give him an opening bid of 100k and see just how high it'll go. I suspect at least 350k interest on him and upward. But I've been wrong before.

I don't know about buyout pricing though (or reserve, for that matter). I haven't been watching or hearing the market for racing stock recently, so what I'd suggest may not hold true for the market right now.

I'd say, since he is a champion, about 30k - 50k+ possibly. But its depending on the price your putting other horses at.

That amount is pretty low for a champion. Like BlackOak says, 100k is the best starting price.
